(4)Black Knights vs Golden Knights(2) Game 2After a long summer of intense competition the Premier league came to an end on Wednesday night which saw the Black Knights double up on the Golden Knights 4-2 claiming yet another provincial championship. The Golden Knights got the start they wanted as they scored the first goal of the game at the 10:15 mark by S.Bedard but was soon spoiled as J.D’Amico of the Black Knights tied the game up just 35 seconds later which was followed by another first period goal from teammate A.Bien-Aime.The second period was very tight as both clubs exchanged a goal each which made the score 3-2 in favour of the Black Knights. With only 1 period remaining the Golden Knights needed to find a way to extend their season as they had a very difficult time trying to solve goaltender G.Kelly.The Black Knights played a great defensive third period and got perfect goaltending along with a power play goal scored by veteran captain P.Musto to claim the victory along with a championship. Although it may have seemed too many that the Black Knights were the favourite to win the championship the Golden Knights deserve lots of credit for what they have accomplished this summer by defeating the legendary Red Lite and giving very strong competition to the provincial champions Black Knights. With the season over a new one will begin shortly in what will be expected for another great year.

(5) Black Knights vs Golden Knights (2) – Match n.1
Le premier match de la finale de la Premier League se jouait mercredi soir. C’était un match très attendu impliquant deux équipes qui se disputaient un important championnat, dans une série 2 de 3. La première période s’est terminée à égalité 1-1. L’attaque des Black Knights a explosé en deuxième période, comptant trois buts dont deux en supériorité numérique. Tirant de l’arrière 4-1 en début de troisième, les Golden Knights n’avaient d’autre choix que de jouer plus offensivement, mais la défensive des Black Knights a été quasiment parfaite, n’allouant qu’un seul but. Ces derniers ont par la suite ajouté un but dans un filet désert, scellant leur victoire de 5-2 et prenant une avance de 1-0 dans la série. Après cette défaite, les Golden Knights se voient acculés au pied du mur et devront faire preuve de résilience tout comme dans leur série contre les Red Lite. De leur côté, les Black Knights devront prendre leurs adversaires au sérieux, s’ils ne veulent pas jouer un troisième match. Le match n.2 en sera un intéressant et aura lieu mercredi le 12 octobre à 21 :30.

(5)Black Knights vs Golden Knights(2) Game 1
Game 1 of the Premier finals was played on Wednesday night in what was anticipated to be great finals involving 2 teams battling for an important championship in a best 2 out of 3 series. The first period was tied at 1 goal a piece before the Black Knights exploded in the second period scoring 3 goals in which 2 of those goals were scored on the power play. With the score 4-1 heading into the third period the Golden Knights had no choice to try and create more offence but the Black Knights defensive game was almost perfect as they allowed only 1 goal where they than later added an empty net goal to secure a 5-2 victory and take a 1-0 lead in the series. This result puts the Golden Knights backs to the wall for game 2.If the Golden Knights can show the same resilience like they did in the series vs the Red Lite than the Black Knights will have to take them seriously if they don’t want to play a third game. It will be an interesting game 2 which will be played on Wednesday October 12 at 9:30.

Les Black Knights ont rebondi après leur défaite de la semaine dernière en temps supplémentaire. Ils ont profité de leurs avantages numériques en deuxième période, obtenant des buts de S. Leblanc et B. Daniele. Débutant la troisième période avec une avance de 4-2, ils ont été en mesure de compter trois buts supplémentaires, terminant leur soirée avec une victroie de 7-3. S. Leblanc et J. Cuscuna des Black Knights , ainsi que M. Girouard des Red Lions ont connu un très bon match avec deux buts chacun. Grâce à ce résultat, les Black Knights affronteront les jeunes et talenteux Golden Knights, dans ce qui sera une excellente finale. Le match n.1 de la finale sera joué mercredi le 5 octobre.

(7)Black Knights vs Red Lions(3) Game 3
This was a bounce back game for the Black Knights after losing in overtime the previous week. They were able to take advantage of their power play in period number 2 where they got goals from S.Leblanc and B.Daniele.That gave them a 4-2 lead heading into the third period where they were able to score 3 more times to secure a 7-3 win.S.Leblanc and J.Cuscuna of the Black Knights had very good games as they scored 2 goals each while M.Girouard of the Red Lions had a pair of goals as well in a losing cause. This result now gives the Black Knights a date with the young talented Golden Knights in what should make for a great final. Game 1 of the final will be played on Wednesday October 5.

(5) Red Lite vs Golden Knights (6) – Match n.2 – Temps supplémentaire
Trainant de l’arrière 1-0 dans la série, le message a dû être passé dans le vestiaire du Red Lite pour arriver très bien préparé au match suivant. C’est ce qu’ils ont fait, prenant l’avance 4-0 en première période, grâce à des buts de P. Roy, D. Morency, N. Vargas-Dias et Y. Labonté. Même avec deux périodes à faire, on aurait pu s’attendre à ce qu’il soit pratiquement impossible pour une équipe talentueuse comme le Red Lite de perdre cette avance. Contre toutes attentes, les Golden Knights ont remonté la pente. M. Martineau des Golden Knights a marqué deux buts en troisième période, incluant le but égalisateur à 14 secondes de la fin du match. Ce but a forcé la tenue d’une période additionnelle. Quatre minutes plus tard, Jeremi Brunet s’est retrouvé seul devant le gardien S. Beauchamp, le déjouant habilement. Il permet ainsi aux Golden Knights de se retrouver en finale.
(3) Black Knights vs Red Lions (4) – Match n.2 – Temps supplémentaire
Après avoir vu les Black Knights battre les Red Lions 7-0 la semaine dernière, la majorité d’entre nous aurait pensé que la série se terminerait en deux matchs. Les Red Lions ont débuté le match de belle manière, marquant deux buts en première période, grâce à M. Girouard et T. Bélanger. En deuxième période, M. Koustoglou des Red Lions a profité d’un avantage numérique pour en ajouter à l’avance de son équipe. M. Stinziani des Black Knights a marqué les deux premiers buts de son équipe avant que la deuxième période ne finisse. D. Zollo a égalisé le pointage deux minutes après le début de la troisième. Le match s’est éventuellement poursuivi en temps supplémentaire. C’était le moment idéal pour les Red Lions d’égaliser la série et c’est ce qu’ils ont fait grâce au but de M. Girouard, neuf minutes après le début de la période supplémentaire. Le match n.3 sera joué mercredi le 28 septembre.

(3) Scorpions vs Red Bull (4) – Match n.2
Au nom de Hockeyballe.com, nous aimerions féliciter le Red Bull qui représentera le Québec aux Championnats régionaux de l’est de 2012. Ils ont défait les Scorpions en deux matchs, obtenant leur seconde victoire mercredi soir. Plusieurs buts ont été marqués en avantage numérique durant ce match, dont trois pour les Scorpions et deux pour le Red Bull. M. Calabrice des Scorpions a joué un très gros match, marquant à deux occasions. Le but le plus important du match a été marqué par J. Lavoie à 12 :45 en troisième période, qui donnait l’avance 4-3 au Red Bull.

(5)Red Lite vs Golden Knights(6) O.T Game 2
Trailing the series 1-0, a strong message must have been sent in Red Lite’s dressing room to come out strong and very prepared and they did exactly that as they jumped to a 4-0 lead after 1 period on goals scored by P.Roy,D.Morency,N.Vargas-Dias and Y.Labonte. Even with still 2 periods remaining you would have to expect that it would be nearly impossible that a highly skilled veteran team like Red Lite would ever lose that kind of a lead but the Golden Knights felt that they could over come the odds by never giving up and by showing their opponents that they meant business.M.Martineau of the Golden Knights came out very big in period number 3 as he scored 2 goals which included the tying goal with only 14 seconds remaining in the game. That goal forced a sudden death overtime where it took only over 4 minutes in before Jeremi.Brunet found himself alone on a breakaway in front of goaltender S.Beauchamp beating him with a nifty move scoring a huge goal which now puts the Golden Knights in the finals.
(3)Black Knights vs Red Lions(4) O.T Game 2
Most of us had to have figured after winning game 1,7-0 that the Black Knights would have ended their series with the Red Lions on Wednesday night by defeating them but it didn’t quite work out that way as the Red Lions had different plans. The Red Lions had a very good start to the game as they were able to score 2 first period goals by M.Girouard and T.Belanger giving them a 2-0 lead. The second period saw the Red Lions take advantage of a power play opportunity where M.Koustoglou found the back of the net to take a 3-0 lead before M.Stinziani finally got on the board for the Black Knights by scoring twice before the period was over.D.Zollo made the score 3-3 just 2 minutes into the third period which eventually led to overtime. This was a great opportunity for the Red Lions to tie the series and they did exactly that on a goal scored by M.Girouard at the 9 minute mark of the sudden death period. This result now forces a game 3 do or die which will be played on Wednesday September 28.

On behalf of Hockeyballe.com we would like to congratulate the Red Bull on representing Quebec for the B Regionals in 2012.They were able to defeat the Scorpions in 2 games by getting the result they wanted on Wednesday night. This game had many power play goals which saw the Scorpions score 3 times with the man advantage while the Red Bull got 2 of their own.M.Calabrice of the Scorpions had 1 of many big games as he scored on 2 occasions while the biggest goal of the game came at the 12:45 mark of the third period on a goal scored by J.Lavoie giving the Red Bull a 4-3 lead which led to a victory.

Tous les gens qui étaient au Centre Sport Expo de Laval à 20h30 mercredi soir ont été témoins d’un match très palpitant entre deux équipes de haut niveau. Les Golden Knights ont pris l’avance 2-0 en première période, grâce à Jéremy Brunet et S. Bédard, avant que J. Daoust du Red Lite ne marque un but en avantage numérique. En deuxième période, les deux équipes se sont échangées un but. Le Red Lite a remporté la troisième période 2-1, forçant la tenue d’une période supplémentaire. C’est à la neuvième minute de la période supplémentaire que S. Bédard des Golden Knights a marqué son deuxième but du match, un puissant tir lancer frappé, battant le gardien S. Beauchamp. C’est une victoire très importante pour la jeune et talentueuse équipe, qui ont maintenant une chance de défaire les légendaire Red Lite et d’obtenir une place en finale.

Ce match de demi-finale entre les Red Lions et les meneurs de la division, les Black Knights, a été à sens unique. P. Musto des Black Knights a marqué le seul but de la première période. Ils ont par la suite bâti leur avance, marquant deux buts de plus en deuxième période, un de A. Bien-Aimé et l’autre de M. Malinaric. La troisième période a été difficile pour les Red Lions qui ont alloué quatre buts supplémentaires. Le match s’est terminé 7-0 à quatre minutes de la fin. Les Black Knights ne devraient pas avoir de problème à remporter contre les Red Lions la semaine prochaine, à moins que les Red Lions n’approche le match n.2 avec le bon plan de match et un peu de chance.

C’était le premier match de cette série 2 de 3 entre deux équipes se battant pour obtenir une place pour les Régionaux de l’Est B qui se tiendront en juillet 2012. Le Red Bull n’a pas perdu de temps pour marquer le premier but. K. Kuczmarski a compté à 2 :20 de la première période. Le Red Bull a ensuite pris l’avance 2-0 en deuxième période, grâce à un but de J. Lavoie. Les Scorpions ont finalement déjoué le gardien J. Richer, en avantage numérique, sur un but de F. Narcisi qui a réduit l’écart de moitié. En troisième période, le capitaine du Red Bull, J. Bilodeau, a profité d’un avantage numérique pour marquer un but important. Ce but a été suffisant au Red Bull pour repartir avec la victoire et avoir la possibilité d’éliminer les Scorpions en deux matchs.

For everybody who was at CentreSportXpo de Laval at 8:30 p.m on Wednesday night got to witness a very exciting game between 2 high quality teams. The Golden Knights jumped to a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals by Jeremi.Brunet and S.Bedard before J.Daoust of the Red Lite scored a power play goal to reduce the margin in half. The second period saw both clubs exchange a goal each while the third period had Red Lite out scoring the Golden Knights 2-1 which ended up forcing the overtime period. It than took 9 minutes into the overtime period before S.Bedard of the Golden Knights scored his second goal of the game which was a rocket slap shop beating goaltender S.Beauchamp.This is a very big win for the young talented team as they now have a chance to defeat the legendary Red Lite and put themselves in the finals.
(7)Black Knights vs Red Lions(0) Game 1
This other semi final match up between the Red Lions and division leaders Black Knights was a one sided affair. The Black Knights scored the only goal of the first period which came off the blade of P.Musto.They were than able to build on their lead by scoring 2 more goals in the second period from A.Bien-Aime and M.Malinaric.The third period was also difficult for the struggling Red Lions as they allowed 4 more goals which led to a 7-0 mercy score with only 4 minutes remaining in the game. The Black Knights look like they shouldn’t have a problem sweeping the Red Lions next week unless the Red Lions approach game 2 with the right game plan along with a little bit of luck.
(1)Scorpions vs Red Bull(3) Game 1, Pool B
This was game 1 of a best of 3 series between 2 teams fighting for a B regional spot which will be held in July of 2012.The Red Bull wasted no time getting on the board first as they got a goal by K.Kuczmarski at the 2:20 mark of the opening period. They were than able to take a 2-0 lead in the second period on a goal scored by J.Lavoie before the Scorpions finally solved goaltender J.Richer on the power play on a goal scored by F.Narcisi which reduced the margin in half. The third period was key for both clubs as they fought hard to get the result they wanted but it was the Red Bull that took advantage of a power play opportunity by scoring a big goal from captain J.Bilodeau.That goal proved to be enough as the Red Bull put themselves in a position to now eliminate the Scorpions in game 2.

Ce match avait une importance particulière pour les deux équipes, puisqu’avec une victoire, les Black Knights terminaient en première place de la division, tandis qu’une victoire pour le Red Bull lui aurait permis de terminer au quatrième rang et de faire partie du pool A. Les favoris ont cependant gagneé, défaisant le Red Bull 5-3, ce qui leur assurent la première place et une première ronde contre les Red Lions. Le Red Bull devra affronter les Scorpions dans le pool B, pour les qualifications en vue des Championnats régionaux de l’est B. Ce match a été serré tout le long, les deux équipes étant à égalité 2-2 après la première période. Les Black Knights ont pris l’avance 3-2 en deuxième période, grâce à un but de L. Dussault. En troisième période les deux équipes se sont échangées un but, suivi par un but de P. Musto dans un filet désert, 20 secondes avant la fin.

C’était le dernier match de saison régulière pour ces deux équipes, qui s’est avéré être un bon match de préparation pour les séries, puisqu’ils s’affronteront à nouveau pour les demi-finales. Les Golden Knights ont bien débuté le match, terminant la première période avec une avance de 2-0, grâce à des buts de M. Martineau et J-R Turgeon. Le Red Lite a répliqué en deuxième période avec deux buts de Y. Labonté, qui ont permis d’égaliser la marque 2-2, pour débuter la troisième période. La troisième période a été dominée par le Red Lite qui a marqué trois buts, grâce à E. Côté, J. Daoust et M. Lebrun. Ces deux équipse se retrouveront mercredi le 14 septembre pour les demi-finales.

This game had important implications for both these teams as the Black Knights were playing for the division title while a victory for the Red Bull would have put them in fourth place passed the Red Lions for a spot in the A pool. The favourites did however come through as they defeated the Red Bull 5-3 which secured them first place and a first round match up vs the Red Lions. The Red Bull will have to face the Scorpions in the B pool for the B regional qualifier. This match was tight all game long as both clubs were tied at 2 goals a piece after 1 period. The Black Knights were than able to take a 3-2 lead in period number 2 on a goal scored by L.Dussault.The third period saw both clubs exchange a goal each which was followed by an empty net goal scored by P.Musto with only 20 seconds remaining.
(5)Red Lite vs Golden Knights(2)
This was the last regular season game for both these teams which ended up being a good preparation game for the playoffs as they will both meet up in the semi-finals. The Golden Knights had a great start to the game as they were able to get out of the first period with a 2-0 lead on goals by M.Martineau and J-R.Turgeon. Red Lite did respond in period number 2 as they were also able to score 2 goals as well both from Y.Labonte which tied the game up at 2 goals a piece heading into the third period. The third period belonged all to Red Lite as they carried their momentum by finding the back of the net 3 more times on goals by E.Cote,J.Daoust and M.Lebrun which secured them a 5-2 victory. This result will have both clubs meet up again next Wednesday September 14 for the semi-finals.

(3) Scorpions vs Red Bull (4) – Tirs de barrage
Les Scorpions ont encore une fois terminé un match en prolongation. Pour une 9e fois cette année en douze matchs de saison régulière, ils ont terminé un match soit en temps supplémentaire ou en tirs de barrage. Malgré leur fiche et leur positionnement dans le classement, cela démontre qu’ils étaient toujours près de gagner ou de perdre la majorité de leur match et que seulement les petits détails pouvaient faire toute la différence. Dans ce match, les Scorpions ont débuté la troisième période avec une avance de 3-2, et ce jusqu’à ce que K. Kuczmarski du Red Bull n’égalise la marque, avec seulement trois minutes à faire. La période de temps supplémentaire n’a rien réglé. En tirs de barrage, c’est J. Lavoie du Red Bull qui a réussi à déjouer le gardien G .Follano, donnant ainsi des points supplémentaires au Red Bull dans le classement général.
(5) Black Knights vs Red Lite (4)
C’était une grosse victoire pour les Black Knights qui sont désormais en haut du classement avec deux points d’avance sur les Golden Knights et un seul match à jouer pour les deux équipes. Le Red Lite doit prendre le blâme dans cette défaite, puisqu’il n’a pas su profiter des avantages numériques lui étant accordés, en plus de laisser les Black Knights marqué en infériorité à deux reprises. J Lulic et M. Stinziani ont été les deux joueurs des Black Knights a marqué en infériorité numérique, tandis que P. Farinelli a marqué en avantage. Quatre joueurs différents du Red Lite ont marqué et le joueur étoile, P. Roy a marqué un but en avantage numérique. Le Red Lite finira sa saison au troisième rang et affrontera soit les Black Knights ou les Golden Knights en demi-finales tout dépendamment de ce qui arrive mercredi soir prochain.

(3)Scorpions vs Red Bull(4) S.O
The Scorpions once again managed to enter extra time as this was their 9th game out of 12 regular season games that either went into overtime or in a shootout. Despite their record and position in the standings it just goes to show that they were very close to either winning or losing most of their games as it only took little details to make a whole difference. This game had the Scorpions enter the third period with a 3-2 lead before K.Kuczmarski of the Red Bull tied the game up at 3 goals a piece with only 3 and a half minutes remaining. The overtime period solved nothing as both teams tried their luck in a shootout. It came down to J.Lavoie of the Red Bull to solve goaltender G.Follano in the shootout which gave the Red Bull the extra point in the standings.
(5)Black Knights vs Red Lite(4)
This was a big win for the Black Knights as they now put themselves on top of the Premier division standings 2 points clear of the Golden Knights with only 1 regular season game remaining for both clubs. The Red Lite do have themselves to blame in this loss by not only not capitalising on their power play but allowing the Black Knights to score 2 short handed goals which made the whole difference in the game.J.Lulic and M.Stinziani were the 2 Black Knight players who scored short handed while P.Farinelli scored on the man advantage. The Red Lite did get balanced scoring as 4 different players scored a goal each while all-star veteran defenseman P.Roy scored a power play goal. The Red Lite will finish their season in third place and will either square off vs the Black Knights or the Golden Knights in the semi-finals depending what happens next Wednesday night.

(1) Red Bull vs Red Lite (3)
S. Contant-Leclair des Red Bull a ouvert la marque à la troisième minute de la première période, donnant à son équipe une avance de 1-0. C’est le seul but qu’ils auront réussi à obtenir, puisque le Red Lite a répliqué avec deux buts en deuxième période, un de N. Vargas-Dias et l’autre de M. Fréchette. En troisième, N. Vargas-Dias a marqué son deuxième du match. Ce résultat permet au Red Lite de rester dans la course pour les deux premières position, puisque les Golden Knights et les Black Knights ont aussi gagné leur match.
(6) Black Knights vs Scorpions (3)
Les Black Knights marqué deux fois plus de buts que leurs adversaires, les Scorpions, dans ce match. Les Black Knights ont joué une solide deuxième période, marquant quatre buts et prenant ainsi l’avance 6-2. A. Bien-Aimé a connu un bon match avec deux buts, tandis que M. Stoico a fait la même chose pour les Scorpions. Cette victoire est importante pour les Black Knights, puisqu’ils sont toujours à un point des Golden Knights, mais avec un match en main.
(3) Golden Knights vs Red Lions (2)
Ce match était à égalité 2-2, jusqu’à ce que M. Brière des Golden Knights trouve le fond du filet, avec seulement trois minutes et demie à faire au match. Les Red Lions ont eu quelques opportunités en avantage numérique, mais n’ont su en profiter, puisque le gardien G. Pilon a fermé la porte. Les Golden Knights cherche à rester en haut de la division, mais doivent faire attention aux Black Knights qui les talonnent de près en cette fin de saison.

S.Contant-Leclair of the Red Bull opened up the scoring at the 3 minute mark of the first period to give his team a 1-0 lead but that was all the goal scoring they got as Red Lite responded with 2 second period goals by N.Vargas-Dias and M.Frechette and a third period goal by N.Vargas-Dias.This result helps Red Lite keep pace with the first 2 spots as both the Golden Knights and the Black Knights won their game.
(6)Black Knights vs Scorpions(3)
The Black Knights doubled up on the Scorpions 6-3 on Wednesday night. They managed a very strong second period as they scored 4 goals to take a 6-2 lead heading into the third period.A.Bien-Aimé had a solid game scoring 2 goals while M.Stoico also had a pair of goals but in a losing cause. This result was important for the Black Knights as they still trail the Golden Knights by 1 point but do have a game in hand.
(3)Golden Knights vs Red Lions(2)
This match went down to the wire as both teams were tied at 2 goals a piece before M.Briere of the Golden Knights found the back of the net with only 3 and half minutes remaining. The Red Lions did have a couple of power play opportunities but weren’t able to capitalise as goaltender G.Pilon was able to shut the door. The Golden Knights are looking to stay on top of the division but do have the Black Knights breathing down their throats as the season is winding down.

Les Golden Knights ont réussi à garder le pointage de ce match serré pendant les deux premières périodes, trainant de l’arrière 2-1 seulement. Mais les Black Knights ont marqué cinq buts sans réplique en troisième période, repartant ainsi avec une victoire de 7-1 sur les champions des régionaux B. L’attaque des Black Knights a été un effort collectif, puisque seul L. Dussault a marqué deux buts.

Une fois de plus cette saison, le match des Scorpions s’est terminé avec une période supplémentaire. Malheureusement pour eux, c’est le Red Lite qui a gagné 2-1, marquant à la deuxième minute. M. Ferrron du Red Lite a ouvert la marque en première période et S. Sacco, des Scorpions, a répliqué en deuxième période. Les deux gardiens, F. Luongo et J. Beauchamp, ont fait du bon travail pour garder leur équipe dans le match. Les Scorpions ont manqué de discipline et le Red Lite a eu quelques opportunités en avantage numérique. Tout de même, les Scorpions ont été capable de s’en sortir sans se faire marquer en infériorité numérique.

Le gardien de but, P. Blais et les Red Lions ont fait de l’excellent boulot contre les Red Bull, les limitant à 14 tirs au but et ne les laissant pas marquer. J. Bourgaize a ouvert la marque à la sixième minute de la première période, donnant une avance de 1-0 au Red Lions pour débuter la deuxième période. Ils ont par la suite marqué deux buts sans réplique en deuxième période, un de A. Dorion et l’autre de M. Girouard. Ce dernier a par la suite marqué dans un filet désert, scellant la victoire 4-0.
La division Premier ne jouera pas mercredi le 10 août, puisque le Red Lite et les Black Knights seront aux Championnats Nationaux qui ont lieu à Toronto cette année.

The Golden Knights did keep this game close for 2 periods as they were trailing 2-1 but the Black Knights came out storming in the third period as they scored 5 unanswered goals to claim a 7-1 win over the B regional champs. The Black Knights got very balanced offence as they had only 1 player with a pair of goals which was L.Dussault.

Once again the Scorpions end up playing another overtime period this season but unfortunately for them they fell short to the Red Lite 2-1 at the 2 minute mark of the sudden death period.M.Ferron of Red Lite opened the scoring by getting a goal in the first period while S.Sacco responded for the Scorpions in the second period. Both goaltenders F.Luongo and J.Beauchamp did a great job keeping their clubs in the game which eventually got decided in overtime. The Scorpions did lack some discipline as Red Lite had a few power play opportunities but the Scorpions did manage a very good penalty kill by not allowing a power play goal.

Goaltender P.Blais and the Red Lions did a great job vs the Red Bull limiting them to 14 shots and not allowing a goal.J.Bourgaize opened the scoring in this game at the 6 minute mark of the first period which gave the Red Lions a 1-0 lead heading into the second period. The Red Lions were than able to put a close to the game as they got 2 second period unanswered goals by A.Dorion and M.Girouard who later added an empty net goal which sealed a 4-0 victory.
The Premier division will not be playing on Wednesday August 10 as both Red Lite and the Black Knights will try to bring home a gold medal at the A National tournament held in Toronto Ontario.

Les deux plus gros rivaux de hockey-balle.com s’affrontaient mercredi soir. J. Pynn des Black Knights a ouvert la marque, en avantage numérique, et a permis à son équipe de prendre l’avance 1-0 pour débuter la seconde période. Les deux équipes se sont échangées un but en deuxième, ce qui a donné aux Black Knights une avance de 2-1 à la fin de la période. M. Fréchette a permis au Red Lite de revenir dans le match, à la sixième minute de la troisième période. En milieu de troisième, P. Farinelli a compté un but important pour les Black Knights, puis J. Corsi a marqué le but d’assurance, dans cette victoire de 4-2 pour les Black Knights.
(2) Scorpions vs Red Lions (2) – Tirs de barrage
Une fois de plus, les Scorpions se sont ramassés en temps supplémentaire et éventuellement en tirs de barrage. Les Scorpions avaient le contrôle du match en troisième période, menant 2-1, jusqu’à ce que les Red Lions égalisent à 6:50, ce qui aura forcé la tenue d’une période additionnelle. Les deux gardiens ont été excellents, tout spécialement durant les tirs, où ni F. Luongo des Scorpions, ni P. Blais des Red Lions n’a laissé passer un but.
(2) Red Bull vs Golden Knights (3) – Tirs de barrage
Les champions des Régionaux de l’Est B, les Golden Knights, devaient faire face au Red Bull, un très bon adversaire, mercredi soir. Les deux équipes ont joué un solide match et les deux méritaient de gagner, mais malheureusement pour le gardien J. Richer et le Red Bull, J. Brunet a été le seul joueur à marquer, ce qui a permis au Golden Knights de repartir avec un point supplémentaire.

Hockeyballe.com biggest rivals were in action on Wednesday night.J.Pynn of the Black Knights opened the scoring on the power play which gave his team a 1-0 lead heading into the second period. Both teams than exchanged a goal each which gave the Black Knights a 2-1 lead heading into the final period. M.Frechette got Red Lite back in the game at the 6 minute mark of period number 3 up until P.Farinelli got a big goal for the Knights at the mid way point of the third period only to be followed by another goal from his teamate J.Corsi which would eventually seal a 4-2 victory.
(2)Scorpions vs Red Lions(2)S.O
Once again the Scorpions got themselves into overtime and eventually a shootout. The Scorpions did have control of the game in the third period as they were leading 2-1 up until the Red Lions tied the game up at the 6:50 mark which eventually forced the extra time. Both goaltenders were great in the game and especially in the shootout as F.Luongo of the Scorpions didn’t allow anything passed him just like his opponent P.Blais.

The B regional champions the Golden Knights took on a very good opponent the Red Bull on Wednesday night only to see the game decided in a shootout. Both teams played a solid game where they both deserved to win but unfortunately for goaltender J.Richer and the Red Bull Jeremi.Brunet was the only shootout player to get a goal which gave the Golden Knights the extra point they wanted.

(2) Scorpions vs Red Lite (2) – Tirs de barrage
Les Scorpions ont raté une opportunité d’obtenir trois points mercredi soir, laissant F. Jobin des Red Lite marquer le but égalisateur avec seulement une minute à faire au match. Ce but a forcé les Scorpions à retourner en terrain connu, c’est-à-dire en période de prolongation. Cette dernière n’a rien résolu et en tirs de barrage, F. Luongo des Scorpions et M. Croteau du Red Lite ont été parfait, n’accordant aucun but dans ce match qui s’est terminé 2-2.
(3) Golden Knights vs Black Knights (1)Un excellent résultat pour les Golden Knights qui doivent obtenir le plus de confiance possible avant leur départ pour les Championnats régionaux de l’est, à l’Ile-du-Prince-Édouard, du 21 au 24 juillet. Les Golden Knights représenteront la province aux Championnats régionaux B, alors au nom de Hockeyballe.com, nous leur souhaitons la meilleure des chances, puisqu’ils ont le potentiel de revenir à la maison avec l’or.
(4) Red Bull vs Red Lions (3)Dans ce match, les deux équipes se sont échangées un but en première période et un aen deuxième période. C’est en troisième période que les choses se sont décidées, lorsque B. Desrosiers des Red Bull a marqué avec seulement deux minutes à faire. Les deux équipes ont été très disciplinées avec une seule punition mineure pendant le match.

The Scorpions missed out on cashing in 3 points on Wednesday night by giving up the tying goal from F.Jobin of Red Lite with only 1 minute remaining in regulation. That goal forced the game to go into a familiar territory for the Scorpions as they once again headed for overtime. The sudden death period solved nothing as both teams tried their luck in the shootout. Goaltenders F.Luongo of the Scorpions and M.Croteau of Red Lite were flawless as they allowed nothing by them resulting in a 2-2 draw.
(3)Golden Knights vs Black Knights(1)
This was a great result for the Golden Knights as they should acquire as much confidence as possible heading into the Regional tournament held at Prince Edward Island on July 21-22-23-24.The Golden Knights will represent the province in the B regionals so on behalf of Hockeyballe.com we hope and wish for them the best of luck as they have the potential to bring home a gold medal.
(4)Red Bull vs Red Lions(3) This game saw both teams exchange a goal each in the first period and a goal each in the second period. The third period was the deciding factor as the Red Bull got a big goal off the blade of B.Desrosier with only over 2 minutes remaining in the game. Both teams showed great discipline as there was only 1 minor penalty all game long.

(4) Scorpions vs Golden Knights (4) – Tirs de barrage
J. Paradis a ouvert la marque à la 2e minute de jeu en première période, donnant une avance de 1-0 aux Golden Knights. Un seul but a été marqué en deuxième période et il a été marqué par S. Bédard des Golden Knights en avantage numérique. La troisième période s’est déroulée de manière saugrenue. A. Francheschini et M. Calabrice ont marqué deux buts pour les Scorpions en avantage numérique, égalisant ainsi la marque à 2-2. J. Paradis a marqué avec seulement une minute à faire au match, redonnant l’avance aux siens 3-2. Celle-ci a cependant été de courte durée, puisque P. Assadi des Scorpions a marqué avec 50 secondes au tableau indicateur. La période de temps suplémentaire n’a rien réglé et en tirs de barrage, un joueur de chaque équipe a marqué, M. Calabrice et J. Paradis.

L’issue de ce match a été déterminée en troisième période, lorsque N. Vargas-Dias et S. Morello ont marqué deux gros buts, pour permettre à leur équipe d’obtenir la victoire 4-3. Les Red Lions ont profité de leurs avantages numériques pour marquer deux buts, un de M. Lapointe et l’autre de T. Bélanger.

J.Paradis opened the scoring in this game at the 2 minute mark of the first period to give the Golden Knights a 1-0 lead. The second period had only 1 goal scored and it came off the blade of S.Bedard on the power play which gave his team a commanding 2-0 lead heading into the third period. The third period was a wild one as the Scorpions scored 2 goals in a row by A.Francheschini and M.Calabrice which came on the power play to tie the game at 2 goals a piece up until J.Paradis scored with just over a minute left in the game to give the Golden Knights a 3-2 lead. This was all short lived as P.Assadi of the Scorpions scored with 50 seconds remaining in the final period which gave his team a chance to win the game in extra time. The overtime period solved nothing and the shootout had both teams exchange a goal each from M.Calabrice and J.Paradis .
(3)Red Lions vs Red Lite(4)
This game was ultimately decided in the third period where Red Lite got 2 big goals from N.Vargas-Dias and S.Morello to get the 4-3 victory. The Red Lions did manage to take advantage of their power play chances as they scored 2 goals on the man advantage from M.lapointe and T.Belanger.
The next games will be played on Wednesday July 13 at Marin Brodeur arena.

Les Golden Knights ont ouvert la marque à la 6e minute pour prendre une avance de 1-0. Les Black Knights ont répondu en deuxième période avec un but de C. Chirola, égalisant le pointage avant le début de la troisième période. Les Golden Knights ont eu une bonne opportunité de prendre les devants durant leur supériorité numérique, mais n’ont pas réussi et c’est plutôt J. Russo qui a marqué en désavantage numérique pour donné une avance de 2-1 aux Black Knights. Ces derniers ont par la suite marqué dans un filet désert, s’assurant ainsi la victoire.

Malgré le fait qu’ils n’avaient que 3 substituts, les Red Lions n’ont eu aucun problème à battre le Red Bull, dans ce match qui s’est terminé 6-1. M. Koustoglou, J. Bourgaize et T. Bélanger ont été les seuls marqueurs des Red Lions, comptant chacun deux buts. M. DoCouto a lui aussi connu une bonne soirée avec 4 mentions d’assistance.
(2) Scorpions vs Red Lite (3) – Temps supplémentaire
Les Scorpions semblent être dans une situation difficile ces temps-ci, mais au moins ils ont été capable de pousser le Red Lite jusqu’en temps supplémentaire, perdant toutefois 3-2. S. Sacco des Scorpions a marqué le premier but du match, 11 minutes après le début de la première période. Le but suivant a été compté par E. Côté du Red Lite, à la quatrième minute de la troisième période. Puis, les Red Lite ont pris l’avance, mais cela a été de courte durée, car les Scorpions n’ont pas tardé à égaliser la marque, forçant la tenue d’une période additionnelle. La période de prolongation n’a pas duré longtemps, D. Morency a trouvé le fond du filet à peine 15 secondes après le début.

The Golden Knights opened the scoring at the 6 minute mark to take a 1-0 lead. The Black Knights were able to respond in the second period on a goal scored by C.Chirola that tied the game up at 1 goal a piece heading into the third period. The Golden Knights had a great opportunity to take the lead on their power play but failed to do so as it was J.Russo who scored a big short handed goal to give the Black Knights a 2-1 lead and than added an empty net goal to secure the victory.

Despite having only 3 change ups the Red Lions had no problem handling the Red Bull in this game as they cruised to a 6-1 victory.M.Koustoglou,J.Bourgaize and T.Belanger were the only goal scores for the Red Lions as they got a pair of goals each.M.DoCouto also had a strong night as he got 4 assists in the victory.

The Scorpions seem to have a tough time catching a break this season but at least they were able to push the distance with Red Lite in their 3-2 overtime loss.S.Sacco of the Scorpions scored the first goal of the game at the 11 minute mark of the first period. The next goal of the game came at the 4 minute mark of the third period off the blade of E.Coté of Red Lite.The Red Lite were than able to take the lead in the third period but that was short lived as the Scorpions tied the game up to force the overtime period. Overtime didn’t last long as D.Morency found the back of the net just 15 seconds in.

D’Amico qui a égalisé la marque, 1-1 après la première période. Un but a été marqué en deuxième période et c’est P. Wick des Black Knights qui l’a marqué en supériorité numérique, permettant ainsi à son équipe de prendre l’avance 2-1 après deux périodes. Les Scorpions ont continué à se battre et ont marqué deux buts en troisième période, pour reprendre l’avantage 3-2, jusqu’à ce que M. Stinziani n’égalise le match à nouveau, 33 secondes avant la fin de la rencontre. C’est L. Dussault des Black Knights qui a scellé la victoire en marquant deux minutes après le début de la période de prolongation. – Aucun but n’a été marqué avant la 11e minute de la seconde période, dans le match opposant les Golden Knights aux Red Lions. C’est M. Martineau des Golden Knights qui a brisé la glace et a permis à son équipe de prendre l’avance 1-0. (Wednesday June 8) Despite their recent struggle the Scorpions were able to manage overtime vs the Black Knights on Wednesday night in a game that ended 4-3 in favour of the Black Knights. The Scorpions took advantage of a power play on a goal scored from J.Tortorici to take the lead. The Black Knights then responded on their power play and got a goal from J’Damico to tie the game at 1 goal a piece after 1 period. One goal was scored in period number 2 and it came off the blade of P.Wick of the Black Knights on the power play to take a 2-1 lead after 2 periods. The Scorpions kept fighting as they scored 2 goals in the third period to take a 3-2 lead up until M.Stinziani tied the game up with only 33 seconds remaining. It was L.Dussault of the Black Knights that sealed the victory by scoring the overtime winner just over 2 minutes in.-This next game between the Golden Knights and the Red Lions was scoreless until the 11 minute mark of the second period where M.Martineau of the Golden Knights opened the scoring for his team to take a 1-0 lead. The Golden Knights were than able to build on that lead on a late second period goal from M.Labrie.The third period was no different as the Golden Knights scored 2 more goals from Jeremy.Brunet and M.Briere which gave them a 4-0 win. Goaltender S.Darwiche faced 15 shots to record a shutout.-This next game also ended 4-0 in favour of Red Lite vs the Red Bull.Red Lite got 2 first period power play goals from M.Frechette and E.Coté to take a 2-0 lead after 1 period. The second period was scoreless. Le premier but de la rencontre a été marqué à la 5e minute de la deuxième période par J. Brunet des Golden Knights. Les Scorpions ont rapidement répliqué, une minute plus tard, S. Sacco égalisait la marque. Avec seulement trois minutes à faire en deuxième, S. Bédard des Golden Knights, a donné l’avance à son équipe 2-1 et plus tard en troisième, J. Primeau a compté le but d’assurance pour son équipe. Les Golden Knights ont remporté le match 3-1. – Lors du match suivant, les Black Knights affrontaient le Red Bull. Les Black Knights ont ouvert la marque en deuxième période en désavantage numérique, avec un but de M. Stinziani. J. Lulic a accru l’avance de son équipe à 2-0, tard en deuxième période. S. Lavoie a temporairement réduit l’écart de son équipe de moitié en marquant, à la troisième minute de jeu de la troisième période. Une minute plus tard, A. (Wednesday June 1) Week 3 of the Premier division was in action yesterday night. The struggling Scorpions continue to struggle as they lost another game this time vs the Golden Knights. This game was scoreless up until the 5 minute mark of the second period where Jeremi.Brunet opened the scoring for the Golden Knights to take a 1-0 lead. The Scorpions quickly responded only 1 minute later on a goal from S.Sacco that tied the game at 1 goal a piece. Later in the second period with only 3 minutes remaining S.Bedard of the Golden Knights gave his team the go ahead goal to make it 2-1 and then later in the third period J.Primeau added an insurance goal to seal the victory for the Golden Knights 3-1.-This next game featured the Black Knights vs the Red Bull. The Black Knights opened the scoring in the second period on a short handed opportunity by M.Stinziani. J.Lulic than added to the lead by scoring a goal late in the second period to give his team a 2-0 lead heading into the third period.S.Lavoie reduced the margin in half for the Red Bull at the 3 minute mark of the third period but that was short lived as A.Bien-Aime scored 1 minute later to give the Black Knights a 3-1 lead.P.Musto added a goal with 30 seconds remaining which made the final result 4-1 in favour of the Black Knights.-This next game had the Red Lite run all over the Red Lions. This game ended 7-0 in favour of the Red Lite.Y.Labonte finished the night with a pair of goals while NelsonVargas, Diaz ended his night with 1 goal and 3 assists. Les Golden Knights ont connu un bon début de match en marquant 3 buts d’affilés en première période. Ces buts ont été marqués par J. Hudon, J. Paradis et J. Brunet. Le restant du match est demeuré sous le contrôle des Golden Knights, creusant leur avance pour éventuellement gagner 8-3. J. Bradley des Golden Knights a terminé sa soirée avec deux buts et T. Paradis avec 3 mentions d’aide. M. Fréchette, malgré la défaite des siens, a marqué 3 buts. – Le match suivant impliquait les Black Knights et les Red Lions. Ces derniers ont ouvert la marque en deuxième période, prenant l’avance 1-0 dans le match. Les Black Knights ont répondu dans la même période avec deux buts, prenant l’avance 2-1. P. Musto des Black Knights a marqué en infériorité numérique, son équipe détenant maintenant une avance de 3-1. Quelques buts se sont rajoutés et les Black Knights l’ont finalement remporté 5-2 contre les Red Lions. – On a eu besoin des tirs de barrage pour déterminer le gagnant du match suivant. M. (Wednesday May 25)Week 2 of the Premier division took place Wednesday night at Martin Brodeur arena featuring the Golden Knights vs. Red Lite.The Golden Knights had a great start to the game by scoring 3 un answered goals in the first period from J.Hudon,J.Paradis and Julien.Brunet.The rest of the game remained in control of the Golden Knights as they were able to build on their lead and eventually win the game 8-3.J.Bradley of the Golden Knights ended his night with a pair of goals while T.Paradis had 3 assists.M.Frechette despite losing the game scored the only 3 goals for his club.-This next match involved the Black Knights and the Red Lions. The Red Lions opened the scoring in the first period to take a 1-0 lead heading into the second period. The Black Knights responded in period number 2 by getting a pair of goals to take a 2-1 lead heading into the third period. The third period had P.Musto of the Black Knights score a short handed goal to take a commanding 3-1 lead which eventually lead to a 5-2 win over the Red Lions.-This next game needed a shootout to decide a winner.M.Argiris of the Scorpions opened the scoring 2 minutes into the first period to give his team a 1-0 lead after 1 period.S.Sacco then added to the lead by scoring at the 4:45 minute mark of the second period. The Red Bull responded quickly as they got 2 goals in a row from K.Kuzmarski and T.Sabourin to tie the game. The third period was scoreless along with the overtime period. The shootout had only 1 goal scorer which was K.Kuzmarski of the Red Bull to give his team the 3-2 win and defeating the Scorpions.

The game time for game 5 of the Premier final will be Sunday May 15 at 9:30 between the Scorpions and the Black Knights.

(Wednesday May 11)Game 4 took place Wednesday night featuring the Scorpions and the Black Knights. The Scorpions entered the game facing elimination but were able to make a statement to their rival opponent by forcing a game 5 with a 7-4 victory. The Scorpions came out strong as F.Bourgouin and M.Alfieri scored the first 2 goals of the game to take a 2-0 lead after the first period. The Black Knights were able to narrow the margin in the second period on a power play goal by M.Malinaric up until M.Calabrice scored on the power play for the Scorpions to make it 3-1.That lead didn’t last long as the Black Knights were able to score 2 goals in a row from M.Malinaric and S.Leblanc to tie the game up at 3 goals a piece. Still in the second period tied at 3 goals a piece the Scorpions decided to go on a rampage by getting 3 goals in a row from F.Narcisi,.Calabrice and S.Sacco to take a commanding 6-3 lead after 2 periods. The third period had less dramatics as both team exchanged a goal each. The final score was 7-4 in favour of Scorpions which now forces the deciding match of the season.

(Wednesday May 4) Congratulations to the Golden Knights as they defeated the Red Bull 4-3 in overtime to win the B pool in this year’s Premier division. This series was tied at 1 game a piece before both teams squared off on Wednesday night. The Golden Knights had a good start to the game as they got 2 first period goals from Julien.Brunet and Jeremy.Brunet to take a 2-0 lead after 1 period. The second period had both teams exchange a goal each to make the score 3-1 in favour of the Golden Knights heading into the third period. The Red Bull showed great character in the third period by getting 2 very big goals to tie the game up a 3 goals a piece from J.Lavoie and S.Lavoie.The overtime period didn’t take to long to decide a winner. M.Briere won it for his team at the 3 minute mark of the sudden death period Full marks to both the Red Bull and the Golden Knights as they fought till the last detail of the series to decide a winner.-Pool A was also in action featuring the Scorpions and the Black Knights. This series was tied at 1 game a piece. As expected game 3 was also a tight affair between these 2 clubs. This game was scoreless for the first 2 periods. Both goaltenders were stellar in this game as F.Luongo of the Scorpions stopped 20 shots in periods 1 and 2 while G.Kelly of the Black Knights turned away 17 shots. The first goal of the game came in the third period on the power play from B.Daniele of the Black Knights at the 10 minute mark. The Scorpions then also responded on their power play with less than a minute remaining in the game on a goal from M.Calabrice to force overtime. Once again both goaltenders kept their teams in this one as they did not allow a goal in the first overtime period. The second overtime period was nearly over up until P.Farinelli of the Black Knights found the back of the net with only 1 minute and eleven seconds remaining to give his team the 2-1 win and a 2-1 series lead. This series isn’t over yet as the Scorpions will attempt to force a game 5 by trying to tie the series at 2 games a piece.

(Mercredi le 20 avril) Le match n.2 des finales de la Premier League a eu lieu mercredi soir entre les Scorpions et les Black Knights dans le pool A et entre les Golden Knights et le Red Bull dans le pool B. – Les Black Knights débutaient la rencontre avec une avance de 1-0 dans la série. Comme on pouvait s’y attendre, le match a été très serré et s’est prolongé en période supplémentaire. Cette fois-ci, les Scorpions ont eu le dessus sur leurs adversaires. Ils ont démontré qu’ils s’étaient préparés en prenant le contrôle du match dès la première période en marquant trois buts. Aucun but n’a été marqué en deuxième période, mais les Black Knights ont fait preuve de caractère en troisième, en marquant 3 buts d’affilé. C’est M.Orlando des Scorpions qui a marqué le but vainqueur deux minutes et 20 secondes après le début de la période supplémentaire. Très attendu, le match n.3 de cette série 3 de 5, aura lieu mercredi le 27 avril. – Dans la demi-finale du Pool B, ce sont les Golden Knights qui avaient gagné le premier match, dans cette série 2 de 3 contre le Red Bull. Plusieurs se seraient attendus à voir gagner les Golden Knights en deux matchs, après le résultat de 7-0 de la semaine dernière. Le Red Bull leur a prouvé qu’ils avaient tort en gagnant 1-0 en temps supplémentaire, un but de J. Prudhomme. Les deux gardiens de but ont été solides; J. Richer du Red Bull a arrêté 26 tirs avant d’obtenir son blanchissage et G. Pilon en a arrêté 17 sur 18. Cette série est maintenant à égalité 1-1. Le troisième match sera disputé mercredi le 27 avril.
(Wednesday April 20) Game 2 of the Premier league took place Wednesday night involving the Scorpions vs. the Black Knights in pool A while in pool B you had the Golden Knights vs. the Red Bull. The Black Knights entered the game being up 1-0 in the series after winning an overtime game in game 1.As expected game 2 was going to be a close affair as it also needed an overtime period to decide a winner. This time the Scorpions were able to get the game winning goal by M.Orlando just 2 minutes and twenty seconds into overtime period. The Scorpions showed they were prepared by getting 3 unanswered first period goals to take control of the game. The second period was scoreless but in the third period the Black Knights showed very good character as they rallied with 3 unanswered goals to force overtime. This result sets up a very anticipated game 3 in this best 3 out of 5 series which will be held Wednesday April 27.-The other Premier final in pool B had the Golden Knights enter the night with a 1-0 series lead in a best 2 out of 3 series vs. the Red Bull. Many of us would have expected the Golden Knights to take the series in 2 games after last weeks 7-0 result but the Red Bull proved that they were able to play with their opponent by defeating them 1-0 in overtime by a goal from J.Prudhomme.Both goaltenders were solid in this game as J.Richer of Red Bull faced 26 shots to record a shutout while goaltender G.Pilon of Golden Knights turned away 17 out of 18 shots towards him.
