They kept it close and generated just enough offence to grab an important 1-0 lead in the series. M.Cloutier broke the barrier early in the second period and M.Lastoria along with M.Gaze completed the match by adding third period insurance markers. The Spartans had their chances that included three power play opportunities but weren’t t able to solve M.Moffa who was brilliant between the pipes.
(1)Concept vs Spartans(2) Game 2
Each side decided to take the same approach in this contest but it was the Spartans winning the battle to even up the series. A.Tedone not only opened the scoring but was able to force a third and deciding game when netting the game winner with just less than 15 seconds remaining. Both net minders repeated a stellar performance that saw C.Stavriadis earn the win over his counter part M.Moffa.
(0)Spartans vs Concept(1) Game 3 O.T
The way both previous matches ended, this final game of the season had overtime written all over it. With less than a minute left in the sudden death period, P.Bibeau riffled the lone tally of the contest which ultimately stood up as the winner. For a second game in the same night, M.Moffa earned a second shutout and allowed an impressive low of only two goals.
In a division that had so many potential contenders, Concept proved to everyone that they merit the glory. The young squad had to pass through four difficult opponents to achieving their goal. On behalf of Hockeyballe.com we would like to congratulate Anthony Moffa and the rest of Concept for capturing the D Tuesday night championship.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to the Concept net minder. Mike Moffa was a force between his cage giving up a mere two goals in three games.
