Armadillos silence the early bird with convincing win
Sometimes things are easy to predict when eyeing the man power both teams have. The Armadillos came fully loaded versus an unprepared group. Despite hanging in there for a while, Les Coqs couldn’t keep up by the third where the Armadillos ran away with the contest. P.Koutsogiannopoulos struck first and got his second to make the score 6-0.K.Koutsogiannopoulos didn’t score but was responsible for making four goals happen. The few times that Les Coqs had their shots and chances, D.Mattar made sure to keep his cage clean.

K.Haratounian slams door shut in win over Dragons
The United Arms had to have been satisfied with the way they started the season. After getting a pair of timely goals and stressing a solid defensive game, the three points felt well deserved. Led by their captain, G.Missakian made the score 2-0 early in the third period as part of two tallies on the night. J-F Aumais opened the scoring by the mid way point of the first period. The Dragons fired all they could towards H.Haratounian, who denied every shot his way. The Dragons found themselves spending too much time in the penalty box which came to bite them in the end.

Punishers routs Rhinos in season opener
The Punishers scored by committee as seven different players struck to find the back of the net. Despite the lopsided score, the Punishers trailed 1-0 and only got on board shy of the mid way point of the match. From there, they took total control of the game. The captain led the way as J.Fidrilis struck first to even the score. Most of the damage occurred towards the end of the second period with four goals going in just two and a half minutes. N.Makeen faced 21 shots that saw M- Piche as the only player to solve him.

Underdogs depth pays dividends
The Underdogs have stock piled their club and it showed right away in their season debut versus the Jets. Completely outnumbered, the Jets didn’t have much time breathe or do much with the ball. Using their four lines up front and a solid five d-man unit, the Underdogs only got better as the game went on. The bulk of the offense was generated in the third period with six goals going in. Apart from A.Ziade’s two goals, no other player scored more than once. C.Malkoun didn’t have to face many shots with only seven dressed players from the Jets. The net minder recorded the win after facing a mere 13 shots. The Jets do have some skilled players but were missing the bodies on this night.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Krikor Haratounian of the United Arms. After facing 20 shots, the net minder stubbornly protected his cage to earn an early season shutout.
