(7)RBK Knights vs Chaos(6) S.O
Rather than 3, Chaos settles for only 1 point
They had fought back netting three straight third period goals and a chance to capture some key points only to lose in a heartbreaking fashion. Chaos could have easily killed the clock with a late power play but found themselves having to play overtime when F.Bchara tied the game in a shorthanded situation. With overtime settling nothing, each side attempted their fate in the shootout. Out o the combined six players sent to take the breakaways, only A.Jalilvand found away to get the better of the net minder. F.Bchara and J.Zeitounian each scored twice in the win while V.Mancini continues to collect points scoring once with three helpers. As for Chaos, S.Sicuso and S.Burrell did their part notching two goals each.
(3)Young Guns vs Les Boys(8)
Les Boys remain unchallenged with perfect 5-0 record
The Young Guns resisted and held their own for one period, but that was as good as it got. The rest of the match shifted in only one direction with Les Boys mounting the score. D.Ruiz, C.Gingras and J-P Meunier took care of the rest of the scoring nodding a pair each. After five games in, the wild scoring continues.
(8)Fat Cats vs HC Inter(6) S.O
Fat Cats storm back in third to take contest in shootout
The Fat Cats had a reason to smile after mounting a remarkable comeback. Down 5-2 after two periods is usually improbable for a comeback but not impossible. With the help of E.Panzera’s two goals and one assist along with P.Nadeau’s late equaliser, the Fat Cats were able to send the match in extra time where they took the contest by the shootout. G.DeMarinis and J.Scalia took care of that department providing two goals while their captain G.Sangiovanni made sure to deny both breakaways his way. This came as a frustrating way to lose for the HC Inter, who had the game where they wanted. M.Lesperance did more than his fair share bagging three goals in the loss.
(3)Hellfish vs Primetime(7)
Primetime ignites in third to defeat Hellfish
Each side looked to be evenly matched for two full periods up until a flurry by Primetime sparked them to a 7-3 victory. Whatever was said in between the second and third period, definitely worked for Primetime by scoring the games next five of six goals. In that span, T.Shpindler over matched the Hellfish by riffling three tallies. Primetime also saw their power play go two for two. C.Flikas and C.Dapoulias each scored with the man advantage with the help of E.Kavaldjian’s two assists.
(4)UHC vs United Arms(1)
J.Sanoudakis shutout bid spoiled but UHC handle United Arms
The win was nice and the effort was certainly there but J.Sanoudakis didn’t need to steal the show in his 18 save performance versus the United Arms. After nearly two periods without a goal, the UHC finally ended the drought when N.DelNigro solved R.Kenadjian. It took only three minutes after that for S.DelGaudio to double the lead. At that point, the UHC just got better as the game went on. N.Gikas helped set up J.Pantelis and C.Zafiropoulos and the UHC looked to be headed for a perfect sheet up until J.Zervakos spoiled the shutout with 90 seconds left.
