(6)Publiks Crew vs Primetime(3)
Publiks Crew get monkey off their back, E.Skotidakis bags hat trick
It took ten tries, but the Publiks Crew finally won a game. The first portion of the season was rough for the Publiks Crew that looked nowhere close to how they have been playing as of late. E.Skotidakis was vital to ending the streak as the forward netted three big goals en route to a double up win over Primetime. The key was the strong start. The game was 4-0 up until the mid way point of the contest where the Primetime finally got on board. It may have taken some time but the Publiks Crew are happy that they finally closed a game. The unfortunate part is that time has ran out giving them no chance to capturing a playoff spot.
(3)Brew Crew vs Acolytes(0)
Acolytes surrender 2 power play goals, D.Noel and Brew Crew earn shutout
Special teams were part of the reason why the Brew Crew took the battle against Les Acolytes on Wednesday night. With only three goals all game, two came with man advantage courtesy of D.Verta and A.Lanni. Another major reason for the positive result was the brilliant goaltending set forth by D.Noel. Les Acolytes struggled the entire night unable to solve Noel. The net minder faced 25 shots making some jaw dropping saves to earn a well deserved shutout. Each side had their fair share of visits to the penalty box which untimely played in the Brew Crew’s favor.
(4)Les Agents Libre vs Bramabulls(3)
Four unanswered goals, James Tutino leads way with hat trick
After being down 2-0, Les Agents Libre were primed in their comeback effort versus the Bramabulls. J.Tutino turned things around participating in all four goals that included a hat trick. A.Kobayati collected three assists and P.Delli Colli remained focused for a long stretch to earn the win in net. The Bramabulls got their strong start thanks to a pair of tallies by C.Fragiudakis. But with their short bench and having to play in extreme heat, there compete level only lasted so long. P.Rivera had a productive night despite the loss setting up three markers.
(2)Les Raymonds vs Hellfish(4)
Hellfish keep climbing, beat Les Raymonds with balanced effort
With both teams in search of their first goal, the Hellfish ceased it by the early stages of the second period where they built a sufficient 3-0 lead. As its been their theme all season, no one stood out more than the other. The division leaders rely on everyone participating in one way or another to get the job done. In tonight’s case, four different players found the back of the net that saw Y.Gazura’s marker hold up for the winner. B.Verducci kept a clean sheet for most of the night until conceding his first of two by the two minute mark of the third period. By then, Les Raymonds made a push to climb back into it but couldn’t level in time because of an empty net goal.
(3)Mtl Huskies vs Horsemen(9)
Good while it lasted
The Mtl Huskies looked to be in good shape for half the match owning a first period up 2-0 but that eventually changed as time went on. The Horsemen eventually picked up their game and the Mtl Huskies didn’t know what hit them. The downfall occurred as of the third period where only one team decided to show up. T.Mader, V.Pandza and P.Sidhom each scored their second goal in the final frame alone. The one thing that definitely didn’t help the Mtl Huskies was the amount of players they had. Playing with two changes against a stacked team isn’t the way to go, especially on a larger surface with extreme temperatures. Despite the loss, D.Greco gave his team a fighting chance stringing two goals together.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Elias Skotidakis of the Publiks Crew. After ten games into the season, the Publiks Crew have finally something to celebrate thanks to a hat trick performance led by E.Skotidakis.
