Shockers top Demons in battle for first place

The Shockers and the Fatal Demons have been the front runners for the division title since the start of the season which put some pride on the line in this feature match up. However, it wasn’t all what it was built up to be with the Fatal Demons lack of bodies. In order to compete with the Shockers a full roster is required. Tonight was just an example of how youth speed and talent will usually prevail against a side that wasn’t equipped to compete. T.Salberg danced his way to three goals that saw the sniper ignite his team’s offense as of the start of the second period. Unable to keep up, the Fatal Demons hit their wall as of the easy stages of the third period where the Shockers stormed with four quick goals. By then, the match was done and the Shockers put themselves in a position to just run out the time. The win nearly secures a first place spot that will have them take on either the Butchers or Team Cuba in the semi finals.

C.Gingras steals the show with 8 points for Lumberjacks

Like he does on most nights, C.Gingras let loose making things extremely miserable for the Butchers. The skilled forward was involved in all eight goals that enabled the Lumberjacks only their second win of the season. The Butchers may only have themselves to blame for this loss. After being up 4-3 heading into the third period, the Butchers weren’t able to run down a team with only two changes. Maybe it was because C.Gingras was simply too good on this night. In addition to his madness, D.Ruiz was vital to win as the feisty forward notched two tallies as part of a four point night. The Butchers had a chance to gain ground on Team Cuba but will need to settle with the loss with only two games left in the season.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Carl Gingras of the Lumberjacks. All eight Lumberjacks goals had the star forward involved that included four tallies.
