Y.Gazura's power play goal snaps third period tie

Y.Gazura scored the go ahead power play goal early in the third period and Deadlast escaped with a hard fought nail biter versus the Lumberjacks. Deadlast got goals- from four different players including a pair of helpers by A.Jalilvand to help the reigning champs get off to a good start. The Lumberjacks, despite the loss came out to play winning lots of loose battles that resulted in three goals. The only difference in this contest occurred in the final frame where Deadlast capitalized with their five man unit. J.Sanoudakis tightened up stopping every shot his way and earned a 26 shot victory over his counterpart J.Shisha, who was also solid facing 30 shots.

Agents Libre fall victim to championship hangover

Les Agents Libre tried every tactic possible to avoid a championship hangover, but it didn't work on this opening night vs the Bramabulls. The night was spoiled early and matters only got worst as the game went on. The Bramabulls ignited three second period goals eventually closing out what was a determined one sided affair. T.Karasek led all players with three goals while his captain A.DiPerna and D.Verta collected three assists each. G.Follano faced 26 shots and only allowed his first of two goals by the mid way point of the game. It may not have been the start they wanted but Les Agents Libre aren't too concerned as this sometimes happens to teams coming off recent success.

Hellfish pull away by third in double up win over RK Knights

In the matter of only 45 seconds, the Hellfish were able to breathe a little easier as two quick goals put the match to rest. S.Monnet and J.Roblin got the Hellfish out of the jam and the RBK Knights knew they were done for the night. Despite the loss, the RBK Knights faired pretty well with a bunch of players playing together for the very first time. J.Roblin was the only player to score twice that included the winner as of the mid way point of the contest. The Hellfish also came off a championship run and showed no signs of rust in their season debut.

(4)Horsemen vs Armadillos(8)

Armadillos use big first period to down Horsemen

It took the Armadillos eight minutes-from the opening draw to turn a scoreless tie into a 3-0 lead. The first period scoring outburst was the insurance that the Armadillos needed en route to a high scoring 8-4 win. Apart- from a devastating start, the Horsemen eventually picked up their game and were able to keep pace with the Armadillos .Both sides battled in the second period trading three goals apiece which didn't bother the Armadillos since they were still up comfortably headed into the third period. P.Scotti struck three times for the hat trick while his captain J.Kontitsis and D.Andrade provided a pair of goals each.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Thomas Karasek of the Bramabulls. His three goals helped lift the Bramabulls to a deciding 6-2 win over Les Agents Libre.
