National resilient effort leads to satisfying win

A huge third period propelled National to overtake the match and collect a satisfying win over the HBHA Seniors. M.Pinheiro, R.Morne and F.Metellus provided much of the offense as all three players combined for twelve point's .Apart- from the opening frame where the HBHA Seniors stormed off to a 2-0 lead, the rest of the match took a different turn with National dictating the pace. The Trailing side notched three quick goals by the second and carried their boost of energy into the third where they simply out-competed the recent champs. P.Koutsogiannopoulos did his part posting two goals and a helper but it wasn't enough for J.Kontitsis and the rest of his troops. This comes as a second straight loss for the HBHA Seniors, who will consider as a massive slump.

Stones edge out slumping Devil Dawgz

The Stones secured another win on Friday night by handing the Devil Dawgz their third straight loss of the season. They did it by responding in a very big way by the second period where they struck three times to overtake the match. After picking up that kind of pace, there wasn't much the Devil Dawgz could have done, especially the way the Stones like to defend. C.Muccino was relied on and made his presence felt stopping close to 257 shots. Four different players found the back of the net for the Stones. T.Settino got credited the winner after netting a late second period tally.

Bijoux defy odds in double up win over Blacksox

With only six players dressed, Bijoux did the improbable on Friday night. The Blacksox knew this going in and wanted nothing more than to grab the first goal of the game. Instead, it was the reverse that happened. Bijoux struck twice by the eleven minute mark of the opening frame and were able to formulate a simple game plan-from that point on. When you have a highly skilled player between the pipes such as J.Beaudry, you know your chances are good for holding on. Bijoux kept the Blacksox to the outside knowing that their net minder would stop anything from a non threatening area. Still, the Blacksox had to get back into the game somehow and did so by taking their chances by the third. Unfortunately, that necessary risk turned into a bunch of turnarounds where Bijoux responded with four goals. M.Grilo, D.Dire and A.Tremblay each scored twice for Bijoux, who presently sit in first place with a perfect 2-0 start to the season.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Marc Pinheiro of National. The captain played possessed in his club's wild 6-4 win over the HBHA Seniors. He earns the player of the night after posting a hat trick that included a late tie breaking goal.
