(3)Red Lite vs Powerball(4) O.T
P-Ball stuns Red Lite in season debut
The only positive a team like the Red Lite will take-from this contest was that it's just the opening game of the season. Because losing the way they did is simply unacceptable for anyone's standards. Normally, a late 3-1 lead is good for the books but not in tonight's case where the P-Ball wouldn't go away. A.Beyries and P.Genereux reeled off two late markers, and P.Bibeau added the overtime winner to cap off a remarkable comeback. For most of the game, P-Ball was on the ropes unable to get anything going. But hockey is played to its final moments, and P-Ball kept battling hard with some new additions in the Premier division such as M.Cloutier, A.Beyries, S.Vanier, K.Gamache, T.Comptois just to name a few in hopes of getting rewarded. For now, they won the battle and will use this as a reminder that they can beat a legendary squad. As for Red Lite, it's all about the bigger picture and this will only be a distant memory as the season progresses.
(5)Black Knights vs Team Haiti(2)
B.Daniele`s shorthanded goal changes direction of match
It was just shy of the contest when B.Daniele used a shorthanded goal to snap a 1-1 tie. That tally can be argued that it shifted the game in the Black Knights favour that never looked back en route to a 5-2 decision. Team Haiti fell behind 3-1 and got some life when H.Merone sparked his second as the only player to solve G.Vermette. Still, the game was-from over for Team Haiti, who found themselves struggling to get the equaliser. Instead, it was B.Daniele coming to haunt his opponent once more collecting his second goal and third point of the night. If Team Haiti could have taken advantage of their lone power play, then maybe they would have a different outcome. Unfortunately, the special teams went against them on this night and will have to deal with it for now. The Black Knights are glad to have added some key prospects to their line-up. Players such as M.DeTorre, W.Ozair,J.Upal and their net miner G.Vermette look to be fit for the challenge and will definitely help an established core moving forward.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Pat Bibeau of P-Ball. His sudden death winner was part of three goals that occurred in every short span in the dying moments of the hockey game.
