(2)HC Mutts vs Fatal Demons(8)
G.DeMarinis ups the ante with four goals
After making headlines only a week ago to earn the SalumiVino player of the night, G.DeMarinis did it one better in this game versus the HC Mutts. Half of the Fatal Demons goals all came from-DeMarinis that included three on the power play. Entering the night, the HC Mutts knew they had a difficult ride ahead of them. They played with only two spares but still managed a decent start tied after one frame. But with two periods still left to play, it was inevitable that the Fatal Demons would run over their opponents. The next six goals all belonged to the veteran side that saw A.Jalilvand spark a hat trick while K.Araujo and E.Medrano collected four assists each.
(6)Butchers vs Lynx(9)
Lynx put it into gear after slow start
It certainly wasn't the start that the Lynx expected. By taking a few penalties, the Butchers took advantage of the situation striking twice with the man advantage. The good news for the Lynx was that the let down lasted only so long. Once the second period began, this contest took a turn with the Butchers unable to contain a much better Lynx breakout. J.Lang used his finishing touch three times while J.Mason strung a pair. Even though the Butchers dropped another contest, there were some positives that they can take. They added three significant pieces in the last couple of games and could eventually be within the mix of competing in closer battles if they can manage all their players to show up.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Jeremy Lang of the Lynx. With his club trailing by a pair after a slow start, the captain sent a clear message to rally his troops by igniting three goals and a helper.
