(3)HC Mutts vs Lynx(5)
J.Lang, J.Mason continue to mesh as teammates
Hands, vision, hockey IQ and telekinesis, J.Lang and J.Mason seem to have it when playing together. The pair have been brilliant all season, with their ability to read one another and connect almost every time they touch the ball. The Lynx wasted no time whatsoever ever jumping all over the HC Mutts early on for a 3-1 lead. All three of those goals had the dynamic duo make it happen with Lang scoring twice and Mason bagging the third goal as both players combined for six points. There wasn't much of a threat -from the HC Mutts for most of the match, except for when they pulled within one by the ten minute mark of the third period. Unfortunately, that late push barely posed any concerns with J.Mason's immediate response.
(3)SBS Trashers vs Fatal Demons(1) Inter-League
P.Nadeau helps lead Trashers in inter-league play
With a couple of key pieces out of the line up, the SBS Trashers looked to others in their close 3-1 win over the Fatal Demons. However, they aren't surprised that P.Nadeau would be a player to step it up in time of need. The SBS Trashers got used his ability and weren't at all shocked that their power forward struck in the first and in the second period for the games only goals. And while they got their minimal offense going, the SBS Trashers suffocated the Fatal Demons for nearly the entire game. R.Pampena, despite earning the win, would have loved nothing more than to get a shutout. The net minder was brilliant once again and a major reason why his club edged out the Fatal Demons.
(11)JLR Brossard vs Butchers (13) Inter-League
Butchers get on the map in high scoring affair
Still searching for their first win of the season, the Butchers finally got the monkey off their back. Strangely, they had to score at least twelve times in order to capture the result. This contest had barely any defence which exposed the two net minders. At one point, the score was 12-6 in favour of the Butchers after two periods. And while that may seem like plenty for a victory, it surely didn't show in the final fifteen minutes of play. The JLR Brossard mounted a massive comeback and nearly got their by pulling within two just passed the mid way point of the frame. Luckily enough for the Butchers, E.Girouard restored the gap and the Butchers were able to hold on to a wild finish.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Pat Nadeau of the SBS Trashers. His two goals were significant in what was a low scoring affair with the Fatal Demons.
