Hustlers over power second division Carmoni

The Hustlers were able to push aside Les Carmoni on Monday night. From the get go, the Hustlers took control of both games making it a very unpleasant night for their opponents. The chances came and came often with both games ending earlier than usual due to the seven goal mercy rule. D.Bertrand and A.Stamiris each scored twice in the opening contest. Then, after collecting four points, T.Bozinakis bagged a pair in the second game as the only multi goal scorer. It's not often a team can keep a clean score sheet for two straight games but the Hustlers are one of those few teams than can achieve it, especially with C.Stavriadis controlling the pipes.

Les Reds anticipated a better fate after drawing blank in opener versus Tocas

Les Reds had nothing to show for in their first meeting with the Tocas. They lost both frames and couldn't get at least one by G.Castilloux, who stopped over 20 shots to earn a shutout. The win came with the help as well of M.Zampino, who struck twice and by their captain S.Marricco notching his clubs second goal. Luckily for Les Reds, they had another opportunity to get it right. After seeing their offense dry up, that all changed early in the second encounter. B.Cabral, D.Mansour and N.Zahabi each scored in the span of only eight minutes to grab a 3-1 lead. By responding early the way they did, the Tocas were now the ones chasing the game. Unfortunately, they just didn't have the same jump to battle back. Despite the loss, S.Marricco struck twice to finish his night with three goals.

Chic Choc wake up late to even the score

Even though the United Arms won three straight periods, it still wasn't good enough to earn a pair of wins. They managed to keep the Chic Choc off the score sheet for a very long stretch. A.Zardarian looked like he could do no wrong denying every shot his way, and did it for just over three periods until things took a completely different direction. Maybe the Chic Choc felt they had no choice to up their game since nothing was working. Sometimes it just takes that one goal to spark some confidence which was exactly what happened when E.Gacem broke the ice. That early marker proved to be contagious as three more tallies followed en route to a 4-1 win.

Mighty Drunks adjust to slow down a wave of offense

It's very clear to everyone that the Punishers will put up the numbers on a regular basis. And even though the Mighty Drunks knew this, there was almost nothing they could have done to slow them down, at least not in the first encounter. The Punishers tallied five times in the second frame to escape with a wild 7-4 result. C.Stamadianos scored twice, P.Karvouriaris had the most for a hat trick while C.Gingras was behind setting up four goals. The good news for the Mighty Drunks was that they had another crack at it. This time, they got it right by not only generating offence but by limiting the Punishers to only two goals in both frames. All it took was three goals in a span of only four minutes coupled with a determined man on man game. As much as it sounds easy to do it versus a team like the Punishers, the Mighty Drunks know that they have the elements to compete with anyone. P.Arkalis is just one of a few names that can turn it up as the skilled forward scored twice for a 3-2 victory.

Vitamin C struggle to find the back of the net, Shutout twice by 1 Timer

The 1 Timer looked energetic out of the gate, applying immediate pressure that resulted in four straight goals in the first period alone. During that stretch, T.Daigneault had a field day striking three times while S.Gravel notched the other tally. Surely, the Vitamin C didn't feel confident to battle back-from such a deficit but that didn't stop them to get at least one and set the tone for the second game. Unfortunately, F.Koch wasn't interested in giving any sort of hope as the net minder remained focused to earn his shutout. The question at that point became how would the Vitamin C respond after a poor display. They did manage to put out a better effort but the end result was still a loss. Their best moment to try and at least tie the game occurred late when they were awarded a power play opportunity. And rather than being the ones to profit on such an enormous chance, it was T.Diagneault of the 1 Timer that actually scored. That tally simply deflated the Vitamin C, who walked out empty handed unable to solve F.Koch for a second straight time. K.Gagne went on to add his second while C-T Perrault collected his fourth assist in both games.
