(4)Slayers vs Punishers (1)
Slayers make it two in a row behind R.Pampena
Behind a strong early start, the Slayers took care of business versus the Punishers on Tuesday night. P.Musto got the Slayers ahead on a power play goal, and J.Desmarais did the same minutes later, also capitalising with the man advantage. The Slayers would take control the rest of the way handling all the Punishers could throw at them and leaving with a second victory in as many games. The Punishers did mount some pressure early in the third, and benefited when C.Diamontopoulos finally got to R.Pampena. That tally gave the Punishers more than enough time to level. However, the Slayers annoyingly gave any sort of time or breathing room for more to come. Despite the Punishers ability to light up the attack, R.Pampena did a fantastic job limiting them to only one goal on 29 shots.
(6)Black Knights vs Capitals (1)
Black Knights use dominant first period to defeat Capitals
The Black Knights came out with blazing speed, a relentless for check and four straight goals to dictate the pace of the game. P.Chery opened the scoring early and registered three points sharing a three point performance with J.Lulic and B.Daniele. Execution of the game plan was virtually flawless, with the Knights holding off the Capitals bursts of offense throughout most of the night. There was one time early in the second period where the Capitals did get on board thanks to A.Boucher. The Capitals knew they had a difficult task ahead of them, and wanted nothing more than to rebound from an earlier 3-2 loss to the Slayers. Unfortunately, they barely had time to get anything right after a poor opening frame.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Remo Pampena of the Slayers. After facing close to 30 shots against a high octane offense from the Punishers, the net minder was stellar allowing all but one goal.
