1 Timer respond after disappointing loss to Les Yables

It was a dream start for the 1 Timer, who scored twice in the first two minutes of the game. And before they could have run away with things, Les Yables knocked on their door responding with a huge power play goal to cut the lead in half. A.Dorais quickly followed to level, and L.Verdon was able to complete the comeback with just under four minutes remaining in the game. The 1 Timer were clearly unhappy with the ways things turned out in the end. Luckily enough, they had a second shot at evening the score and managed to pull through taking the second contest .Certainly the goals and the offense were nice, but it was much about the competiveness and the urgency that propelled them to even the score. T.Daigneault was playing with plenty of energy producing two goals and an assist while Y.Bernier was credited the winner after breaking a late 3-3 tie.

Degenerates having issues in lopsided losses to Classics

They were stripped down, short and really awful. If there is one night in the regular season that the Degenerates will need to forget , this was it. Now, its not to take away what the Classics did on their end as they clearly deserved what they got. From the get go, they struck early and often in both games which enabled them to play the way they wanted. The Degenerates came out flat and never really challenged hard enough to make a game of it. After taking the earlier contest 3-1, the second one was no where close to being a hockey game. J.Courteau found his sweet spot burying three goals while the rest of his teammates contributed in in one way or another. It was also clear that R.Ranieri was up for the challenge as the net minder kept getting stronger throughout the entire night allowing only one goal in both games.

Orient, only themselves to blame in split with Punishers

One can argue that the Punishers deserve praise for overcoming a two goal deficit late in the second encounter after dropping the first match 5-2. But the truth is simply that the Orient did it to themselves. For nearly the entire two games, the men in green were fierce and hungry wanting to prove that they can compete and defeat an established hockey club like the Punishers. However, unless you remain focused and don’t let your guard down, things can turn in a hurry. That’s what happened when they saw a 4-2 lead disappear faster than a twinkie at a weight watchers meeting. The Punishers used three late goals to top the Orient for some highway robbery points to the standings. The comeback effort was led by Y.Gazuri, who pulled his team within one, and by A.Kobayati, who used some late magic by not only tying the game, but by winning it on a late game winning tally.

Prolific Athletes relieved to finally get in the win column

The Prolific Athletes put an end to a miserable start to their season by collecting a pair of wins over the Ice breakers on Monday night. They were finally able to enjoy the benefit of having a full roster which clearly helped make the entire difference. The first encounter had everyone buy in as five different players took turns finding the back of the net. And although he didn’t score, J-P Sauve was largely responsible for setting up four teammates. R.Ceneston was only two minutes and change from earning a shutout but the net minder wasn’t too concerned on that detail with so much more on the line. Unhappy with the way things ended, the Ice Breakers made it a point to perform better in the second game. They did manage a 3-2 lead after one period and looked poised for a solid finish to try and even the score. Then, and in the matter of three minutes, the Prolific Athletes tilted the court when J-P Sauve and R.Demosllhene each scored to grab the lead. Both these wins came after the Prolific Athletes dropped their first eight games of the season. Despite their slow start, half a season still remains for a team that looks like they’ll challenge for a playoff spot.
