Dek Elite shows off its talent
The Centre SportXpo has had some magical moments over the years and there’s no doubt that tonight’s games between Le Rinque vs Dek Lanaudiere and the SportXpo vs Dek St-Eustache will shoot to the top of the list. Teams fed off the amazing energy -from their fans feeling the release of emotion, joy, and raw fan noise. Both games lived up to the hype with no easy takers. Here are the recaps of four high level teams competing with each other.
(2)Le Rinque vs Dek Lanaudiere(1)
Le Rinque squeak by Dek Lanaudiere with 2-1 victory
Patience paid off for Le Rinque on Tuesday night. K.Kuczmarski broke a late tie, and Le Rinque needed every inch of this game to edge out a resilient Dek Lanaudiere team. It was a tight, physical game, and it was clear that this was going the distance. However, Le Rinque did make it hard on themselves taking a bunch of penalties which eventually led to E.Valiquette leveling the game at one goal a piece. Playing shorthanded gave Dek Lanaudiere some jump to their game forcing Le Rinque to be a little more cautious about their approach. Eventually, good players tend to find a way, and who other than K.Kuczmarski to decide matters at a crucial time during the match. The skilled forward scored with just over four minutes left in the game which proved to be just enough. Neither side would have had that shot to getting it done if not of the net minders. They always play a factor in low scoring games , and credit to C.Lantin who barely edged out his counter part L-S Venneau.
(4)Dek St-Eustache vs Centre SportXpo(2)
Dek St-Eustache offense blooms in final frame leaving CentreSportXpo in disbelief
Its always been a strength for the Centre SportXpo to close out games throughout their long history. Its actually a trademark for many who know them as the Black Knights. But tonight, that may feel like a concern to some veterans and team coach T.Iannitto. Maybe they’ll look at it as only one game early in the season which can eventually be forgotten. Regardless what the mind set is, there just is no excuse for blowing a 2-0 lead, especially when allowing your opponent to strike shorthanded and cut the lead in half. The Dek St-Eustache never let up and responded with a strong all-around effort to get back into to this game, and eventually take it from the Centre SportXpo. They clearly sent a statement in what was a dominant final frame highlighted by four different goal scorers. G.Gelinas may have had the biggest impact in the comeback by netting a shorthanded marker. K.Duplin evened the score on the power play, and F.St-Louis snapped the tie right before C.Famer provided insurance to cap off a remarkable comeback. The CentreSportXpo had their best moments only in the first period where P.Musto and Y.Tifu figured out G.Vermette.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Kevin Kuczmarski of Le Rinque. Even though its takes an entire team effort to win hockey games, you still need that timely goal-from one of your line mates. In tonight’s narrow 2-1 victory, K.Kuczmarski was able to provide it.
