RCGT flip the script on Fatal Demons

After getting whipped Thursday night, and outplayed throughout most of the first game, the RCGT rebounded with a solid effort. The Fatal Demons spent most of their energy early on knowing that it was going to be a grind with their short bench. With M.Destounis striking first coupled with a stingy defensive effort, S.Morante battled 15 shots toward him to preserve the shutout. But the second game did have a different story line. The RCGT made sure to get to Morante as often as they could, and by doing so were able to figure out the net minder enough times. S.Ruggiero and M.DelGaudio shared two goals each and S.Scott fought every ball his way allowing only one tally.

M.Defanti rescues Family in absolute wild finish

Carnage couldn’t have asked for a better start in their mini series with the Family. They got the early jump thanks to T.Ruvo, got two more tallies-from the very same S.Arcaro, and played a perfect defence game enabling G.Tritsis to earn a 15 save shutout. The second contest however resembled nothing like the first one. This time the Family appeared to be in control with the help of M.Braun providing two first period goals. And while they appeared to be destined for an easy win, a sudden collapse saw a late two goal lead evaporate in an instant. S.Azzi had evened the score for Carnage only seconds after P.Arcaro  potted his second.  By that point, it appeared that Carnage would either feed of the momentum or that this contest would have been decided in a shootout. Neither of those scenarios happened, instead M.Defanti scored with only 12 remaining and the Family avoided a devastating collapse.

O.Caillet calm as a cucumber in net for Pylons

With neither side able to get it done in the first encounter, the Pylons kept battling and were eventually rewarded in their hard fought battle with the Dragons. The recipe wasn’t complicated for the Pylons. Knowing that they had O.Caillet taking care of his cage, the rest of the crew understood their role. Six players simply waited for their chances making sure to play a committed man on man game without the ball. A.Fonrose was credited the winner while setting up J.Constantin for some insurance. The Dragons did have their fair share of chances but were stuck facing a net minder that saw nearly every ball while doing a remarkable job on his rebound control.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Olivier Caillet of the Pylons. There was barely any denting a goaltender that was razor sharp for the Pylons. O.Caillet was the reason why his club took four out of a possible six points vs the Dragons.
