Unknown storm back late to salvage a point

Jumping off to the better start is something  every team tries to prepare for and the Club Ecole Orient did just that in the opening game versus the Unknown. They were able to built on every shift, and continued to impose their will which eventually led to a 3-1 victory. C.Malkoun was only 30 seconds from-recording a shutout when J.Constantin beat him late in the game. The Unknown hoped to fuel off that late spark but found themselves in the same position, this time giving up four straight goals. The Club Ecole Orient was relentless applying their same game plan that saw their offense contribute by committee. Any betting person would have expected a guaranteed result by that point. However, something happened, and out of no where this game took a complete turn. After notching two late goals right before the period ended, the Unknown felt they had a chance with plenty of time left over. R.Sollacitto had set up J.Wolf to pull his club within one, and was also able to feed E.Gabeau to even the score with a man short. That sequence was definitely not what the Club Ecole Orient is accustomed to.  And even though the shootout didn’t settle anything, the Unknown felt the satisfaction of overcoming a four goal deficit to steal a point.

Horsemen overcome a game to forget versus Snipers

Even the Horsemen would agree that they probably played their worse game of the season so far. From-the drop of the ball, nothing went right for them. They lost plenty of battles, they gave up to many goals and their offense was nowhere to be found. The Snipers however will look at it that they did everything right which they did getting everybody on board for a deserving win. Ali Khanafer and Ahmad Khanafer each scored twice, and M.St-Laurent was stellar in net to record a shutout. The Horsemen used the opportunity to fix a poor performance. Their defensive effort was stiffer, and the offense existed as they finally found the back of the net on three occasions. It may not have come as a blowout win, but a positive result nevertheless. Luckily enough, they managed to build a 3-0 lead while keeping a clean sheet till the late stages of the game. The game looked to be an easy wrap but doubt started to creep in when A.Saleh potted two very late markers for the Snipers. V.Panndza’s goal proved to be just enough for the captain as the Horsemen were glad to sweat out a difficult win.

Armos ride two great starts in sweep of Trashers

The SBS Trashers may have kept both games close, but couldn’t get over the hump during their double header with the Armos. The 2-0 lead after only five minutes paid off in a big way for the Armos as they kept the Trashers in check except for one power play goal. S.Jankouzian was credited the winner, and R.Kenadjian remained calm in net stopping 17 shots. Unable to address their earlier problem, the SBS Trashers went through another bad start giving up two early goals once again. They did manage to overcome it by responding with two quick markers only to find themselves trailing shortly after. Y.Derohannessian demonstrated his leadership role by snapping the tie for his second of the contest. Despite the amount of time left over, the SBS Trashers kept running into the same problem, a committed defense and a stubborn net minder. Both these clubs have shown inconsistencies throughout the season so far. The Armos will hope to build off this night while the SBS Trashers will search for answers on how to play for four complete periods.
