Depleted 1 Timer couldn’t keep Bad Guys inc in check

They were flat early, and couldn’t fully recover losing both their games in a landslide to the Bad Guys inc. Tonight was just a bad situation, and set of unfortunate circumstances for the 1 Timer. Its never easy going up against the top division teams, especially when missing three crucial forwards that would have surely created some decent chances throughout the two games. Maybe they don’t get the right result, but they would have at least avoided the embarrassing seven goal mercy rule. The Bad Guys inc did come loaded on the other hand with a near full roster and it showed-from the get go that they were better prepared.  It doesn’t often happen, but seven different players found the back of the net in the opening win. The same could nearly be said for the second match where six different goal scorers struck leaving only J.Cardinal as the only multi goal scorer of the night. After facing a total of 18 shots in four periods, G.Barkley walked away with a perfect sheet earning two shutouts.

RCGT Knights fall twice despite comeback in first game

Apart-from one period, the RCGT Knights couldn’t challenge well enough against the Hart Foundation. M.Stoico broke a 2-2 tie for the Hart Foundation right after F.Bchara and D.Vaccarro had evened the score for the RCGT Knights. The discouraging finish didn’t get better in the second game where the Hart Foundation took control on two quick first period goals. T.Oliveira made sure to take any sort of life from- his opponent by posting his second for a 3-0 lead leaving only a hand full of minutes on the clock. That marker provided a jolt to the Hart Foundation bench as they knew they were on their way to a second straight win. P.Delli Colli was stellar throughout both games facing a total of 40 shots.

HC Jokerit depth couldn’t match up against high end talent

It just didn’t matter that the Punishers had one change up going against an army of young players that can wear you down with their speed and resiliency. In the end, they couldn’t contain K.Kuczmarski, who was able to constantly carve the HC Jokerit back end. In the first game alone, Kuczmarski participated in all six goals that included three feeds for C.Gingra’s hat trick. Normally teams would find a way to adjust after realising what just happened. And whether they realised it or not, the HC Jokerit couldn’t find a solution on how to slow down the dynamic duo. Much of the same thing carried  into the second game with the Punishers creating a ton of chances. Once K.Kuczmarski netted his second for a 3-1 lead, the Punishers continued to control the game in a relaxed fashion waiting for their opportunities to arise. The HC Jokerit did actually manage a bunch of shots on net while generating some  high end chances only to hit a wall between the pipes. P.Karvouriaris, if he isn’t scoring plenty of goals during a game, he is definitely able to prevent them as the net minder was brilliant for the Punishers.

Late goals lift Degenerates over Orient

Defense led both teams in a battle of the net minders when the Degenerates stymied the Orient twice on late goals. The game saw both sides play a tight man on man disciple style leaving only some crucial plays to decide the outcomes. For the Degenerates, that area fell in their favour with A.Lanni deciding matters in the first game followed with a sneaky move by L.Folini to cap off the second match in style. There was no doubt the Degenerates got invested in both games going up against a team-from the higher division. Games like this only make you better as the compete level needs to rise in order to challenge such clubs. After playing the higher division for three straight weeks , the Degenerates are pleased with their overall performance as they were able to collect nine out of a possible eighteen points.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to K.Kuczmarski of the Punishers. At times, it looked like Kuczmarski didn’t need teammates around him. His ability to control the ball for long stretches and in tight spaces led to a remarkable ten point performance.
