Hart Foundation bounce back after letting lead slip away

The Hart Foundation got the start they were looking for, but just couldn’t seal the deal, at least not in their first game. It did feel that it was only a question of time for a team that hit the goal post five times before they would crack the barrier. The late comeback occurred when S.Koch and J.Guye-Perrault scored with under three minutes left in the game. Unhappy with the way things ended, the Hart Foundation made it a point to play a full two period game. They once again got the start the they wanted and made sure to not repeat the same mistake keeping the 1 Timer off the sheet for as long as possible. D.Sarno ,A.Monteleone and M.Stoico each scored to provide a comfortable cushion, and P.Delli Colli was sound in net allowing only a fairly late power play goal to beat him. By splitting both games, the 1 Timer have given themselves a very good chance to grab second place which will enable them to capture a first round bye.

D.Charbonneau is doing something right, nets natural hat trick, Degenerates stifle Classics

D.Charbonneau scored a natural hat trick, S.Morante allowed only one goal in two games, and the Degenerates were glad to pick up two clean wins. With the victories, the Degenerates will skip the first round and wait in the semi finals for their opponent. This was a first of two in their double header night. D.Charbonneau picked up from-where he left off making it clear that his player of the game in the Masters 35+ division was no coincidence. All three of his goals came in the 3-0 win for the active d-man. The second match saw the offense spread out with four different players scoring for the Degenerates. S.Morante was solid in his 47 save performance allowing only one tally-from K.Araujo. The Classics may not be pleased for where they sit in the standings, but they know well enough how dangerous they’ll be when a full squad shows up for the playoffs.

K.Kuczmarski last minute heroics puts exclamation point vs Orient

K.Kuczmarski wasn’t about to let the Punishers go the full distance in deciding who has a better skill set during the shootout. Instead, he put the Punishers on his back and came up clutch twice to pull the rug-from under the Orients feet. After beating the buzzer in the opening frame to snap a 3-3 tie, Kuczmarski haunted the Orient for a second straight game, this time breaking a 4-4 tie with just over two minutes remaining. Sure, its never fun for a team that kept both games close like the Orient did throughout the entire four periods, but the problem was containing the usual suspects. K.Kuczmarski, P.Karvouriaris and C.Gingars are just that lethal. All three combined for an impressive 17 points. Even though the Orient dropped both games, they know that they can compete with the Punishers. When games are decided late like in tonight’s case, anything can happen when you tweak a little thing or two. For now, F.Nasser will need to focus on how to beat the Bad Guys inc before he worries about a potential game plan versus the Punishers.

D.Greco catch’s fire with seven out of a possible eight points

Its always nice to have your back end be very effective in both zones of the court. The Degenerates create plenty of offense-from their defense which makes life a lot easier for their forwards to produce. D.Greco is one example as the quick d-man notched two goals for a 3-0 win. He later assisted on four tallies while netting one himself to help lead the Degenerates to a second win over the HC Jokerit. A.Lanni benefited twice, and D.Charbonneau decided to chip in adding another marker. The Degenerates had played earlier on versus the Classics making this encounter with the HC Jokerit their fourth game of the night. In eight periods of hockey, the Degenerates allowed only one single tally. That is an area they need to focus on if they plan to reach their ultimate goal.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Kevin Kuczmarski of the Punishers. If there is one player that will make the difference between winning and losing hockey games, K.Kuczmarski is that player. The Punishers took two very close wins vs the Orient thanks to Kuczmarski’s seven points that included two back breaking winners.
