Fatal Demons on cruise control in rout of Carnage

With 1st place already locked up for the Fatal Demons, and with the playoffs just around the corner, captain P.Santullo wanted to make sure his troops were sharp and firing on all cylinders. Their offence was primed and ready on this night, but Carnage didn’t help themselves by having no changes as well as forcing their captain F.Pace to strap on some goalie pads and get between the pipes to face the Fatal Demon onslaught. Game 1 started well for Carnage, who scored the opening goal, but it was all downhill after that, as the Fatal Demons stormed back scoring 6 unanswered goals with K.Araujo leading the way with a hat trick. Game 2 had a similar story line as 5 different goal scorers got on the board for the Fatal Demons on their way to a 7-3 rout, as Carnage simply couldn’t find the energy to compete vs a quality opponent who came with a stacked bench. Give credit to F.Pace who took the initiative to go in nets to try and help his team, but ultimately the Fatal Demons were just too much too handle and they will be a force to be reckoned with come playoff time.

Pylons & RCGT Knights split games in intense battle

Whenever there’s a battle between two teams that know each other as well as these teams do, there’s a lot of strategy and planning that goes into each approach, like a chess match. In 2 tightly contested match-ups, the intensity and physicality were turned up a notch as both teams groom themselves for the upcoming playoffs. Game 1 saw the RCGT Knights take a 2-0 lead after the 1st period, only to see it all unravel after the Pylons scored 3 unanswered goals in a 70 second time span to ultimately win the game 4-2. With the bitter taste of Game 1 still in their mouths, the RCGT Knights regrouped and came out strong to start Game 2. They grabbed an early lead and never looked back, even when the Pylons reduced the deficit to 1 goal. S.Sauk and his troops prevented the Pylons from further damage and held onto the lead to prevail 4-3, thus splitting the series. There was a lot of back and forth in these games, with both teams trading scoring chances, chirping, chippiness and plenty of opportunities in what was a tune-up for the playoffs for both teams.

Dragons find their offence vs The Family and take care of business

The Dragons surely had revenge on their minds tonight as it wasn’t that long ago that the Family held their potent offense off the scoresheet and surely captain J.DeStefano planned for a different outcome this time around. Sure enough, The Family employed their usual defensive minded strategy for Game 1 in what was a tightly contested affair that went the Dragons way with A.Henein credited the game winner for a 2-1 victory . Game 2 was a different story however as both teams decided to open the offence, with the Dragons thoroughly outshooting the Family. The Dragons held a 2-1 lead after the 1st period, but then both teams combined for 6 goals in the 2nd frame, which saw the Dragons complete the sweep with a 6-3 victory with 5 different goal scorers tickling the twine. The two game sweep helped the Dragons hang onto their 2nd place in the tight standings and as far as the Family goes, they’ll need to come with a full squad come playoff time and as its often said, in the playoffs, anything can happen.
