RCGT Knights pairs wins over Family
Both games may not have mattered much for the standings but playing well before the real season starts can play a factor for the RCGT Knights moving forward. You always want to build on confidence, and what better way than to collect a pair of victories with only two mini games remaining in the regular season. F.Bchara was a contributing factor in the opening game posting two goals and an assist while S.Sauk allowed only one power play goal by M.Braun. The Family went through a similar start in the ensuing match giving up three goals, but managed to battle back early in the second period when M.Braun and M-A Dahha scored within two minutes. Neither side was than able to solve matters in regulation time. After sending three sharp shooters during the breakaways, M.Dupuis was the only one to figure out V.Teoli for the RCGT Knights.

Fatal Demons finish strong in double rout of Dragons
Finishing strong was a point of emphasis for P.Santullo and the Fatal Demons. They started to pick it up as of the second period and did a great job controlling most of the play that resulted in three straight markers. M.Destounis bagged a pair, and M.Mavroudis collected his third point to cap off a 4-1 win. The Dragons entered the night in hopes of keeping their second seed for a first round bye. After missing out on some earlier points, the second game wasn’t much better. This time, the Fatal Demons got them early winning the frame 6-3.M.Mavroudis continued-from where he left off adding four more tallies. If the Dragons plan on making a run, their play without the ball will be an area they’ll need to address.

Pylons eventually get it done to secure a semi final spot
Thanks to the Fatal Demons capturing two wins over the Dragons, the Pylons needed only one win in order to secure a second place finish for a first round bye. With the first game favouring the Brewers thanks to a late marker by L.Bavellas, the standings just got more complicated leaving the second match up for grabs for the Brewers, who also had an equal shot for second place. It was only expected for this contest to be a grind with so much on the line. The Pylons carried a slight 3-2 lead until the latter stages of the game where they erupted with three straight markers. For a rare time this season, the Pylons had two full lines and will need a strong body count if they plan on heading to the big stage.

RCGT Knights edge out Carnage in high scoring affair
Apart-from one period in the second game where the RCGT Knights went up 3-2, the rest of the frames were dead even. Both sides exchanged three first period goals in the opener while trading one in the shootout. The second game was nearly as equal in what was a wild 7-6 decision favouring the RCGT Knights. S.Ruggiero was a force in the first match netting two markers while getting his clubs lone shootout goal .The offense was somewhat spread out by the second game with six different players taking turns finding the back of the net, except for G.Varrechione, who knotted back to back tallies in a very short span as part of a five point display. J.DeSua also chipped in five points while S.Azzi was the Carnage’s most productive player finishing with an impressive four goals and an assist in both games. The significance of these games didn’t have much bearing for the standings with the RCGT Knights isolated in fifth place and Carnage officially out of the post season.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to M.Mavroudis of the Fatal Demons. When he’s on his game, M.Mavroudis will dismantle almost any defense by using his reach and precise shot to bury his chances. Tonight, he posted five goals and three assists to help lead his club to a pair of easy wins.
The Master’s 35+ regular season came to an end on Thursday night. The Fatal Demons and the Pylons will skip round one and head straight to the semi finals for capturing the top two seeds. The quarter final match ups are as follows:
(3)The Dragons vs The Family(6) This series will be a tricky one depending on how many players show up for the Family. With a full team, and identifying the dangers-from the Dragons, the Family have a real shot at advancing if they play their cards right.
(4)Brewers vs RCGT Knights(5) Both sides have the elements for getting it done. The Brewers are difficult to play against for how structured they are and how well they play with the lead. The RCGT Knights will have to use a chess match approach and patiently wait for their chances to come, if not, look for the Brewers to advance.
