M.Mavroudis, scoring machine sparks Fatal Demons

After the Brewers emerged taking game one in a shootout, the Fatal Demons took over the series thanks to their prolific goal scorer. M.Mavroudis torched his opponent setting up two goals before going on a scoring spree netting three in a row to shift the series. That strong finish put the Fatal Demons in the drivers seat despite the series all tied up. Game three saw both teams playing it cautious while patiently waiting for their chances to arise. S.Morante, just like his counterpart G.Platanitis made some jaw dropping saves to keep the series alive. With game three going scoreless in regulation time, the next step was a five minute sudden death period that stood between moving on or packing your bags. Again, M.Mavroudis led the way after setting the tone in the previous match by providing the Fatal Demons biggest goal of the season so far. The power forward buried his chance with less than two minutes remaining to send his club through to the final.

O.Valiquette comes up clutch for Pylons

This heart wrenching series was a back and forth affair that saw the Pylons get the final word when O.Valiquette ended it in a dramatic game three overtime finish. Prior to that moment, the Pylons appeared to be fine jump starting their night riding four straight goals in only ten minutes. And although they took game one, a different Dragons team completely took over the series. In their must win heading into game two, G.DeMarinis and Y.Gazura carried the Dragons, with Gazura striking four times while DeMarinis provided six helpers. The Pylons looked like a bunch of pylons as the lack of effort came to hurt them, which left them only twelve minutes of a mini game to re adjust. Unfortunately, the urgency heading into game three was still dormant as they gave up two goals-from B.Daniele and G.DeMarinis. Still, there was enough time left over and the Pylons knew they needed the next goal. Luckily enough , O.Valiquette provided that much needed marker, and all of a sudden the Pylons felt their was a chance. It took only two minutes after for E.Allen to tie the game and even up this series. By that point, neither side gambled to much trying to avoid a mistake which would likely decide the series. Eventually, it had to go into a five minute sudden death frame where O.Valiquette seized the moment by finding himself at the right spot. This series had its ups and downs for the two teams and it was only fitting that it came down to the wire.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to M.Mavroudis of the Fatal Demons and Olivier Valiquette of the Pylons. There is no question both teams reached the finals thanks to both these players producing the way they did.

Its now down to only two teams remaining in the Masters 35+ division. The Fatal Demons will hold the upper hand in this final due to their stacked bench that provides plenty of quality and strong work ethic. The Pylons will need their necessary elements to be present in order to have a chance. Playing with less than two lines like its been their theme all season just wont cut it at this stage.
