Altius break through in third to top Punishers
(2)Punishers vs Altius(6)
P.Arkalis scored two key goals, and the Altius used a strong third period to defeat the Punishers. The game did start off looking like the two teams would keep it close long enough and go the distance. In the end, the Punishers were caught with their foot off the gas pedal as the Altius took over on a bunch of consecutive goals. P.Arkalis took the offense on his back netting a pair of timely markers to put the game in complete control for his side. M.Melo might have conceived a pair of first period tallies, but that just made him stronger as the game went on. The net minder was clearly on top of his game making big saves while going flawless the rest of the way. The Altius seem to have the right formula for a successful season. By relying on a deep bench spread out with balanced defence, offense and goaltending , look out for them to be a thorn to any opponent.
Panthers prevail in tight checking tilt behind C.Blunt’s winner
(2)Panthers vs United Arms(1)
C.Blunt’s early third period goal proved to be the difference maker between the Panthers and the United Arms on Wednesday night. It appeared as though the two sides were trying to lull the other into submission throughout the entire game. The Panthers did get on board first when J.Blackman finally got to R.Ricaurte, who was stellar between the pipes. With the next tally being crucial, C.Blunt was able to provide it early in the third period giving his club plenty of breathing room despite the amount of time left over. The United Arms would eventually break the barrier thanks to M.Boghassian, but that was the extent of their offense for the night. D.Bourque would continue to stonewall the United Arms attack capping off a brilliant 22 save performance.
C.Gingras 5 goal third period explosion drives comeback win
(9)Punishers vs Assadi Consulting inc(7)
C.Gingras led the way with five goals for the Punishers as they managed to pull off the win after playing their second game in only three hours. The Punishers had an answer for everything the Assadi consulting inc threw at them. It Looked as though at one point the Assadi Consulting inc would leave the Punishers in the dust building a 5-2 lead after two periods, especially when considering fatigue would come into play. Clearly that wasn’t the case at all, and quite the opposite as it looked like the Assadi Consulting inc were the ones that appeared a little more drained. The Punishers had so much high powered offense in the third period alone that it looked like a video game. The truth of the matter is that if the Assadi Consulting inc prioritised on trying to shut down C.Gingras, a third period debacle would have been avoided. Instead, Cingras did what Cingras does best, and that’s to take over a hockey game. The star player scored an incredible five goals in that period alone to cap off an incredible night.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Carl Gingras of the Punishers. Not many players can do what C.Gingras did on Wednesday night. With his team looking down and out, the Punishers lethal weapon single handily won the game for his club posting a ridiculous five goals.
