There was no doubt National had a difficult challenge ahead of them. You never want to rely on rotating one player on your bench to endure an entire hockey game.  In these types of situations, a basic game plan is necessary, and that’s simply to hold back and wait for your scoring chances. National does have the luxury of some key weapons that can change a game. In tonight’s case, S.Laplante was that player as the slick defenseman dictated the terms resulting in netting four out of his clubs six goals. The Chiefs failed to take the advantage of playing with their slight one goal lead on two occasions. They were  unable to wear down National long enough. Maybe a two goal cushion would have changed the fate of the result. In any case, plenty of credit to National, who managed to pull this one off with a very depleted line up.

For most of the match, the two sides measured up to one another, trading plenty of goals that eventually saw this game all tied up at five goals a piece by the third period. Eventually, that all changed when A.Minassian used a precise shot to put the Armos back in control. With momentum starting to shift on the side of the Armos, things only got worse for Carnage, who couldn’t stop the bleeding-from that point on. The Armos dug in and found a way to run up the score striking three times in just over a minute. A.Minassian was part of the barrage notching two markers in the final frame along with Y.Derohannessian, who controlled a large part of the offense that resulted in four points for the centre man.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Steve Laplante of National. His cerebral qualities where in full display on Friday night. The smart and crafty defenseman quarterbacked his team to victory by providing four tallies in a close 6-4 win over the Chiefs.
