4vs4 Monday Semi finals

Monday May 16 (Semi finals)

Well rounded Altius too deep for Country Club, advance to final

The Altius are happy they got a bit of a challenge before taking out the Country Club in two games. The first encounter went easily their way after a solid first period, but the second match wasn’t nearly as close. They did have the luxury of playing in front and put themselves in a great position thanks to P.Arkalis’s back to back goals in the second period. That sequence still didn’t break the Country Clubs back as they kept pushing hard to keeping the game close. F.Proulx narrowed the margin by one with two minutes left which gave them enough time to even the score. In their final attempt to try and level, the Country Club weren’t able to really generate some high end chances. The Altius trapped the lanes, won some loose ball battles and ran out the clock just in time. This was a series that the Altius felt they deserved flooring a complete line up that showed up ready to play. As for the Country Club, they needed to try and steal game two in order to have a legitimate shot. Anytime you play a shorter game three while having a C.Gingras in your line up, your odds of advancing are pretty decent. Unfortunately, they couldn’t get there on this night versus a more determined opponent.

J.Mandracchia haunts Lyft Off to help send Dragons to the final

He came out of the gate like a man possessed. Everyone expected this series to be very close between the Lyft Off and the Dragons and why not when the two sides have a ton of talent. However, J.Mandracchia brought his game to a different level on Monday night. Players will make an impact and be a large reason why sometimes teams win or lose. In the case of J.Mandracchia, the Dragons were glad to see their star player rise to the occasion and dominate the way he did. Out of their eleven total goals in three games , J.Mandracchia was involved in ten of them collecting a ridiculous eight goals and two assists. He made one goal look prettier than the other that would have made highlight reel clips on any top ten list. Its always nice to have high end talent in team sports. Both sides got what was expected-from their top guns in this series. J.Mancini and S.Harchi were lights out of the Lyft Off as the dynamic duo caused plenty of fits for the Dragons defense. The two players combined for eight points and were a big reason why the Lyft Off went the distance with the Dragons. In a series that was so close, one key play is often the difference on who will win. The Dragons happened to make that one extra play when J.Mandracchia snapped a 1-1 tie in game three. As much as Mandracchia deserves his praise, the Dragons and the Lyft Off players put on quite a show on Monday night. Credit to the two teams for playing a hard fought series that could have easily gone either way.
