Dek Elite returns after World Championships with several players out of the lineup

Le Rinque played a perfect game on Tuesday night proving that an overwhelming offense and a stifling defense gave the Dek Laval no chance to keep up with a superior opponent. L.Augustin hardly had any action at the other end of the court registering an easy 8 save shutout. The story of this contest was the dominant play of Le Rinque owning every area of the game which resulted in an easy 8-0 win that needed only two periods because of the mercy rule. Le Rinque spent most of their time in the offensive zone getting balanced scoring throughout their short line up. J.Provost scored very early on a tally that held up for the winner, S.Hrivnak chipped in with a pair while B.Jutras was the most productive collecting five points. Just like their opponent, Dek Laval didn’t quite have their entire roster as well which only made matters worse going up against an undefeated club.

Dek Ultimate did not come out and give the kind of effort you would expect-from them. By the time the first period ended, Dek Lanaudiere left their opponent in the dust no where to be seen. Five different players scored to help mount a comfortable 5-0 lead. In hopes to bounce back with a better effort entering the second frame, things continued to spiral out of control when H.Bernier riffled his second by the two minute mark. At no point were the Dek Ultimate able to settle things down, to stymie momentum, and to minimize the damage when things weren’t going particularly well. Errors were mounting at an alarming rate for a team that normally knows how to contain pressure. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t a good night for a side that could have done better regardless how well the Dek Lanaudiere played. Similar to the 7:30 game between Le Rinque and the Dek Laval, this contest was also decided by the time the second period ended due to the mercy rule. B.Desrosiers struck last for his fourth point, and C.Gaudreault faced 11 shots to record a shutout.

CentreSportXpo takes advantage of depleted Hockeyballe.com

It was inevitable and just a question of time before the Centre SportXpo took total control of this encounter with the Hockeyballe.com. It becomes extremely difficult to play against three fresh forward lines when you have barley anyone to change with. The Hockeyballe.com knew it was going to be a rough ride with their anemic roster. In cases like this, you have to simply hang back, wait and hope for some break out plays while heavily relying on your goaltender. To their credit however, they did keep it respectable trailing only 3-1 by the mid way point of the match. M.Lastoria would eventually widened the gap by three toward the end of the second period, and both sides surely knew by then that it only become a question of time for the Centre SportXpo to secure victory. The win didn’t need any particular game changers or heroes as five different players took turns finding the back of the net. Although he wasn’t overly busy, F.Gagnon could have gone perfect in net if not for allowing a very early shorthanded marker by P.Lapointe. Credit also goes out to C.Stavriadis as well on the other side of the rink, who kept his team in it after facing nearly 30 shots.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Benoit Jutras of Le Rinque. In a night where no one really made a big difference, B.Jutras did lead all players in all three games accumulating a total of five points.
