(4)Le Rinque vs Dek Lanaudiere(3)
Le Rinque spoiled Dek Lanaudiere’s comeback effort by finishing off strong on two unanswered goals that led to a close 4-3 win. Le Rinque got ahead quickly in the first on tallies by M-A Trudeau and T.Pham. However, Dek Lanaudiere pushed back almost immediately when S.Dicarie found himself right in front of Le Rinque’s net. Sometimes it takes a spark to help motivate your team. That goal came a long way with Dek Lanaudiere taking over on two more consecutive markers that eventually put them in front just passed the mid way point of the game. Still, time was far-from being an issue for a team that can score at will. M-A Trudeau was able to respond for a second time to knot this contest at three goals apiece heading into the final frame. Both sides could sense how big that next goal was going to be with momentum swinging back in forth. Eventually, C.Mackenzie was able to snap the third period tie for Le Rinque, who had the luxury to play with less urgency by focusing on defence rather than trying to score.

All you could do when playing with a very short bench is to hang back, keep your opponent to the outside, and hope that your net minder stands on his head. The strategy for the Dek Ultimate may sound simple, but it becomes only a question of time before a strong opponent finds the lanes or the areas to generate high end scoring chances. The first period score ended 3-0 in favour of Hockeyballe.com which by then both sides knew that the writing was on the wall. The waves of pressure riding three lines at a time simply overwhelmed a side that barley had room to do anything with the ball. It only made sense that their lone tally came on the power play courtesy of A.Bien-Aime. The Hockeyballe.com did spread out their offense with many contributing to the score sheet. T.Bozinakis was the only player to score twice and earn a total of four points.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Trung Pham of Le Rinque. The forward was the most productive involved in three out of Le Rinque’s four goals.
