RCGT Knights use three quick goals in final stretch to down HC Jokerit

Maybe their first encounter was one to forget, but the HC Jokerit had another chance to make something out of it. And for a large part they did, keeping the game close  levelled at three goals a piece with less than a period remaining. However, it just wasn’t good enough in the end as the RCGT Knights left them in the dust on three very quick goals. J.Prevost,J.Azoulay and M.Proulx had already scored earlier in the contest before stringing together their second in less than two minutes. A bad timing penalty didn’t help the HC Jokerit either, who only trailed by one until J.Azoulay took advantage for a 5-3 lead. The HC Jokerit could have used some help-from a couple of their key guys out of action. Unable to adapt, they just weren’t good enough to compete throughout four entire periods, especially in the first match where they got toppled 6-1.

Horsemen offense goes cold with depleted line up

Its just that hard to get enough chances when you are barely hanging on with one change up. The Horsemen were stuck with this problem having to manage their time on the court using their energy only when needed. You almost need to score first in these kinds of situations so that you can hang back and wait with less urgency. Unfortunately, they fell behind at one point, and were forced to open up which didn’t really amount to much in the end. The Snipers limited them to only ten shots and got their insurance marker thanks to F.Nasser. The Horsemen did get some reinforcement in the next match when D.Sarno arrived. Still, they couldn’t really afford to fall behind despite the extra body. Again, the Snipers struck twice, and the Horsemen have yet to get to M.St-Laurent. Eventually, that time came toward the end of the first period when M.Mamoulidis finally figured out the net minder. In hopes of getting that much needed equaliser, Ali Khanafer of the Snipers got their first on a tally that just held up for the winner.

Degenerates barely hang on in tight affairs with Kings

After squeezing out a 5-4 shootout win, the Degenerates barely took their second encounter with the Kings. You almost have to figure that a 6-2 lead versus a tired team would have been more than enough. Not in this case with D.Lombardi and T.Ferreira causing plenty of fits to the Degenerates  defense. Both players nearly pulled the rug-from under their opponents feet as they mounted a comeback striking three times each for a hat trick. Perhaps the key moment came when L.Folini scored the Degenerates  seventh goal for a 7-5 lead with not to much time left over. Both sides decided to play a little run and gun with the amount of odd man rushes exchanged. Its not always the best strategy to try this with the Kings, but it worked on this particular night due to their shorter bench. The Degenerates had some good looks tonight along with some bad ones. With the playoffs looming around the corner, they’ll need to sharpen up if they plan on going anywhere.

Altius grabbing key points as they chase Assadi Consulting inc in playoff run

They really had no choice put to put it all on the line. The Altius are currently chasing the Assadi Consulting Inc in order to try and get into a playoff spot which made tonight’s two games extremely crucial. They did have the luxury of going up against a depleted line up that had two players who just finished playing in the lower division. But even at that, the Altius needed every moment of both games in order to gain some ground to the standings . A.Kobayati was a big factor in the first of two meetings as the forward scored twice while setting up two teammates en route to a 7-5 decision. The two teams understood that they had no option but to remain hungry knowing that every point now matters. You would have to figure that the Altius had the slight edge due to their deeper bench, but it didn’t quite pan out that way. The Assadi Consulting Inc were there to compete no matter how enduring it was. Despite trailing 5-4 with less than a minute left in the game, D.Lombardi sent a perfect pass in the slot area where  J.Courteau made no mistake to bury his chance on a wicked one timer. That tally forced the shootout where the Altius did manage to profit the extra point thanks to all three players cashing in. The results on tonight’s games now has the Altius trailing the Assadi Consulting inc by only two points which will suggest for an interesting finish to the season.

Classics cruise for easy wins over undermanned Dragons

The results were almost predictable. The Dragons were terribly out shot, out chanced, and outscored by a landslide due to their short bench. Its never pleasant trying to defend against four highly skilled players without your entire team. C.Gingras, P.Karvouriaris, A.Kakivelis and C.Kakivelis were in a league of their own combining for a ridiculous 30 points. Its only normal that the Classics had the ball the whole time which led to both games ending in a landslide. Sometimes these circumstances happen when key players are unable to show up. The Dragons wont let this one really bother them knowing that their full line up can go a long way. For now, they appear to be in a comfortable position to making the playoffs, but nothing is set in stone with only two weeks left in the season.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Anthony Kobayati of the Altius. The Altius had no choice but to get results versus the Assadi Consulting inc. In both their games , A.Kobayati was a big piece to the puzzle making plenty happen as the forward finished his night with seven points that included a beautiful shootout goal.
