G.DeMarinis stays hot with six points, Fatal Demons topple RCGT Knights
G.DeMarinis continued his torrid scoring on Thursday night collecting another six points that secured his scoring title and a first place finish for the Fatal Demons. Nothing less was expected for the Fatal Demons than to rack up six clean points against an undermanned RCGT Knights. Granted, the first encounter did involve plenty of work with the game remaining extremely close for a large portion of time. Eventually, the Fatal Demons pulled away when M.Mavroudis strung two quick goals to give his side some breathing room. After running up the score for an easy finish, the Fatal Demons made life easier on themselves in the second match. G.DeMarinis lead the charge once more on the games first two goals which was followed almost immediately with M.Chenier and A.Zarzour striking for a commanding 4-0 lead after one period. There was only so much that the RCGT Knights could have handled rotating one player on their bench. M.Dupuis was still very good in net despite what the final scores look like while offensively F.Vitoratos and V.Mancini faired well as both player collected three points each.

F.Koch and Armos pleased with their overall performance to close out season with Brewers
Despite flooring a short bench, the Armos put to together a solid overall performance against a deep Brewers team. Scoring first is always a key factor when playing with less bodies. That first tally enables you to take less risks which forces your opposition to open up their game a little more. The Armos benefited when C.Doulis worked his way to the net that somehow saw the ball trickle behind C.Stavriadis. That slight lead came along way in the end as the Armos timed their opportunities while making it a priority to play a sound defensive game. Of coarse it helps when your net minder bails you out as well. F.Koch was perfect stopping every single ball his way en route to a well earned shutout. The Armos however weren’t done yet as they attempted a duplicated effort in the ensuing match. And to their credit, they got that first goal once more. By this point, F.Koch hasn’t yet conceded anything up until the final frame where the Brewers finally got their break. D.Verta made a cross pass to his captain A.Lanni who had a wide open net to feed and tie things up. Sometimes it just takes that one goal to get things going which applied in this particular case with J.DeSua snapping a late tie.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Felix Koch of the Armos. When games are played extremely close, often your goaltender will be making the difference. The Armos collected their first win on a shutout by F.Koch, and nearly stung the Brewers a second time thanks to their net minder being a big factor.
Tonight concluded the regular season in the Masters 35+ division. The semi finals will take place Thursday September 8. The match ups area s follows :
(1)Fatal Demons vs Armos(4) So difficult to gauge who will come out of this one. Assuming both teams have their complete roster, this series could easily go either way. Both sides have the scoring, the defensive discipline and solid goaltending that can take you a long way. Its one of those cases where bounces and some element of luck could decide matters.
(2)Assadi Consulting inc vs Brewers(3) Plain and simple, the pressure will come down to how P.Assadi preforms in net. The Brewers will get their consistent goaltending-from C.Stavriadis which will force Assadi to match him on the other side of the court. That being said, P.Assadi has proven enough times that he his a playoff performer. If he stands tall when it counts, the Assadi Consulting inc will look in good shape to advancing. However, that will also depend on who shows up-from his roster as rumor as it that key players may be missing.
