Stout defensive effort paces Team Red past Team White

Behind a stout defensive effort and some timely scoring, Team Red doubled up  Team White on Tuesday night. Goals came-from six different players with M.Valmora collecting three total points. Team Red did an excellent job trapping the defensive lanes keeping Team White to the outside on the large part. G.Kanaras wasn’t overly busy, but still a key factor limiting his opponent to only three goals. Nearly all of the scoring was done in the first portion of the game. With Team Red riding a comfortable 6-3 lead, Team White tried as much as possible to battle back. They did carry some of the play, but kept finding themselves unable to create enough high end chances. It was a perfect formula used by Team Red that will work nearly every time.

The SalumiVino player of the game goes to G.Kanaras. Allowing three goals in 48 minutes isn’t the easiest thing to do. However, Kanaras was there to deliver a stellar performance that helped his club get the better of Team White.

Team Yellow looking to get back on track after nice result vs Team Blue

Whatever frustration Team Yellow had for their recent performances, they took it out on Team Blue. Team Yellow played with more intensity, and produced a more solid game which was missing on the large part-from the start of the season. Sometimes you just got to get a good start somewhere and forget about the bad moments that live in the past. Tonight, they produced offense with A.Zakarian being a presence bagging four goals and four helpers while B.Mourad was solid making timely saves .  The way the game started, it looked as though  Team Yellow was in for another long ride. After all, they gave up three straight markers in the first five minutes. Then, as soon as A.Gold got them on board, the script flipped completely as they just took off-from there riding six unanswered tallies. It may be only one game, but the near future is looking good for a side that seems to have it together. As for Team Blue, the DeMarco brothers will always be there to make good things happen as both players combined with eight points.

The SalumiVino player of the game goes to Alex Zakarian. When the power forward is on top of his game, its very difficult for anyone to contain him. Tonight, he made a lot of right plays that resulted in a very productive eight point performance.

Team Orange, unable to keep up as the game went on with Team Black

The game started off well for the two sides with a lot of good scoring chances, nice looking saves, but Team Black eventually took over at one point. Team Orange didn’t seem to have the right method on how to slow down an explosive offensive team. With so many players to look out for, you almost have to commit to playing a full pin man on man game. Its usually difficult to apply that kind of discipline throughout 48 minutes. As time continued to roll, Team Black would chip away here and there to give themselves enough breathing room. C.Arnoldo opened and closed the scoring to finish off with a hat trick. J.Lapenna used two big goals early on to set the tone while M.Dearing and Marie-Eve cashed in twice as well. Team Orange didn’t have a choice but to gamble as the game went on. And as much as they tried to climb back into it, nothing was really working. D.Lipinski did have a strong night like he has shown game in and game out netting half of Team Oranges goals.

The SalumiVino player of the game goes to Claudio Arnoldo of Team Black. His ability to know where to be on the court resulted in him collecting a hat trick along with a pair of helpers.

M.Pacienza provides winner for Team Green  in high scoring affair

Its one of those games where the goaltenders need to have a short memory. Sometimes balls will find their way as many went through in what was a nice back and forth contest between the two sides. D.Galloro gave S.Sauk plenty of fits early on riffling four tallies in the first 23 minutes of the game. Eventually, Team Green saw his short stick, and made it a point to address him. With the game reaching its final minutes, and nothing yet decided, M.Pacienza used a big timely goal that barely held up. Team Green had plenty of good ball control and perhaps could have runned up the score a little higher if it wasn’t for S.Catalano guarding Team Purple’s cage. T.Nardelli and M.Pagano chipped in with a pair for the win while P.Santullo collected five points that included four helpers.

The SalumiVino player of the game goes to Pat Santullo of Team Green. The leader took charge making plenty of plays by setting up four goals while collecting one for himself.
