HOW TO QUALIFY?

Women: Teams need to participate in the qualifier tournament organized annually by the Quebec Ball Hockey Association. This tournament generally happens in Spring, the year prior to the National and Regional Championships. The winning team gets a spot at the A National Championship and the runner up gets a spot at the B National Championships.

Junior and Masters: Contact us for more information.

Men: All the teams wanting to participate at the A, B, or C National Championships will have to take part in the Premier League regular season. Premier League teams will be divided in two divisions: A and B.

1. Winning teams from the A division will go to the "A" National Championship.

2. Winning teams from the B division will go to the "B" National Championship.

3. Winning teams from the C division will go to the "C" National Championship.

4. Winning teams from the D division will go to the "D" National Championship.

Note: If at season's end more than one winner is interested in participating at the C or D Nationals, a round robin will be held to determine the winner.

  • In the A division, if the same team is to win both seasons (summer and winter), a head to head game shall be played between the summer and winter seasons’ finalists; to see which team captures the second spot.
  • The B division winner will get an automatic birth at the B Nationals, and will be forced to move up to the A division for a minimum of one season. If the B champions do not want to play in the B Nationals, they will be allowed to stay in the B division Premier League. After two consecutive championships, the team will be obliged to move up.
  • In the event where a team that already has a spot reserved for the B or C Nationals, and wins the next season in the higher category, they could participate at the A or B National Championships the next year.*
  • A minimum of 7 players that qualified in the regular season must be part of the team going to the B, C & D National Championships.
  • Players listed in Group 1 in the classified list of players are not allowed to participate at the B, C & D National Championships. Players from Group 2 are authorized. Any player who has played in the 2016 or 2017 A Canadian National Championships will not be allowed to participate at the B and C National Championships.
  • Players listed in Group 1 & Group 2 in the Classified List of Players are not allowed to participate at the D National Championships. Exception: players who qualified with their respective D caliber team, under our house rules, would be allowed to play at the D National Championships. Any player who has played in the 2016 or 2017A Canadian National Championships will not be allowed to participate at the D National Championships.
  • If a Quebec B team wins the B Nationals, the players on that Championship B team will not be allowed to participate in the following years B, C or D Nationals. (Exception: players that are considered pick ups don’t apply)
