(6)French Connection vs A-Team(2)
Led by a two goal opening period from J.Faresse, the French Connection used their experience in protecting the lead the rest of the way. The men in blue kept a clean score sheet and led 5-0 until the five minute mark of the third period where the A-Team finally got on the board. P.Hargreaves also had a two goal night, J.Dumont along with S.Legare each had three assists, and F.Gaudet-Peloquin held the fort between the pipes allowing only two third period tallies.
(9)Wocafloka vs Eagles(5)
Only two games into the season, the Wocafloka have convinced everyone that they’ll be the team to beat. Although they may have won this contest, the Eagles caused some concern after grabbing a 4-1 lead which forced a wake up call from their opponents. It’s not often that every single player in one team accumulates at least one point but that was the case on this night as all eleven Wocafloka players got their name on the score sheet. M.Latreille, A.Moscato and E.Brady all had two goal games for Wocafloka while P-A Surprenant did the same for the Eagles.
(4)Billionaires vs Carnage(5) O.T
When it looked like the Billionaires were on their way to protecting a 4-2 third period lead, things only turned for the worst. Carnage out matched their opponents by the third period winning the frame 2-0 with goals from Y.Mouchaca and A.Kalaydjian forcing what was a dramatic overtime finish. Each side saw the clock ticking away waiting for the shootout to happen only to have a slap shot from S.Giannoulakis end the game with five seconds remaining. As much as that goal was heroic, Carnage only got to that point by getting a collective team effort from everyone.
The SalumiVino Player of the night goes to Spiros Giannoulakis of Carnage. His top corner slap shot won his club the game with only five seconds left on the clock in overtime.
