Les Coqs put to test, fall short in loss

It wasn’t up until the mid way point of the third period that the Wocafloka had some breathing room. Despite playing with a short roster, Les Coqs didn’t make the night easy for their opponent. R.Barillaro and M.Gendron scored in the loss. Wocafloka needed the help of their only two power play chances to shift the game their way. On both occasions, M.Latreille buried goals with the man advantage. Both sides have plenty of speed and used it well to their advantage. If not for penalty trouble, Les Coqs may have had a better fate. But power plays are part of hockey and when the chances are there, good teams will often capitalize. J.Lamoureux-Remo and N.Andrianacos aren’t too concerned after what they saw from their team. As for Wocafloka, the only expectation is to win, if not the season will be a failure.

(4)Bramabulls vs Werewolves(3)

Bulls open season strong, Werewolves ok with loss

If there is such a thing as a good loss than this would be a rare example of one for K.Miraldo and the Werewolves. Knowing how good the Bramabulls are, the Werwewolves came very close without four key elements to their team. In the win, A.Mirolla separated himself from everyone as the dominant forward caused more than handful of problems to the Werewolves defense. With the help of his line mates M.Lang and S.Mirolla, the established goal scorer put three behind goaltender B.Verducci. The Werewolves never had the chance to play with a lead but managed to tie the game on two occasions. The winner came by the six minute mark of the third period where A.Mirolla completed his hat trick. As expected, A.DiPerna assembled another deep line up and will plan to roll with it for the entire season. His formula for winning always consists on rolling plenty of players to wear down his opponents. Just like the other five teams, the Bramabulls are planning to go all the way.

K.Araujo’s late marker avoids overtime

K.Araujo grabbed a late winner with his second of the night to snap a 3-3 dreaded tie. The Fatal Demons wanted to make sure to play with the lead and did that when Araujo struck on the power play. It wasn’t long into the second period when P.Pailkopoulos doubled the lead, also with the man advantage. Fat Roy responded moments later courtesy of K.Kakivellis, who finally had the chance to solve S.Sauk. After a grueling battle for the entire night, P.Elizardo eventually tied the game with his second only to see it slip away. His equalizer lasted barely 20 seconds. The Fatal Demons just finished capturing the E Sunday division surprising the entire ball hockey world as heavy underdogs. Many may look at them and wonder how they got it done, but high hockey IQ with tons of experience always plays a factor. Teams shouldn’t be fooled by their regular season record as it’s often not the priority for the veteran side. Even if the Fatal Demons finish with one win or twelve wins, the playoffs is when they elevate their game. As for Fat Roy, plenty of young talent is on the rise. The mission is left to C.Zafiropoulos to find the right combinations and strategies for his team’s success. But the potential is there as twelve games will be just enough time to find some chemistry.
