Team X rout overmatched Young Gunz with two wins
After ending the first period tied 1-1, Team X took control in the second with six straight goals to take the opening contest. J.Melo and D.Galloro each had two goals and Pedram Assadi was stable in net to capture a 10 save win. This was an uncharacteristic game for the Young Gunz who have been extremely hot as of late. Team X applied a very simple game plan that worked. The veteran side waited for their opponent’s error and used their counter attack to generate chances. The Young Gunz had a chance to put this loss behind them with another game ahead of them, but the result weren’t far off. In the second match, Team X continued from where they left off striking with four first period tallies. Four different players scored in the opening frame. A.Lanni did add his second early in the second period with a power play goal. The only bright moment in the loss was when G.DeLuca beat P.Assadi to spoil his shutout. The Young Gunz had a bad night and will look to put it behind them quickly as they plan to rebound in next week’s battle versus the Last Minute.

Les Carmonis stifle 1 Timer in heated battle
Throughout the opening period, Les Carmonis’s checking game was much better than the 1 Timer’s. Les Carmonis did a good job putting pressure which eventually resulted in three goals. L.Folini set up both C.Desmarais and A.Ducharme and Les Carmonis won a big first period 3-0.The 1 Timer did have some bite in the second frame to narrow the margin, but the time just wasn’t there for the comeback. J-P Boucher faced twelve shots and some high quality scoring chances to take the win in net. With a chance to rebound in the second contest, the 1 Timer put up a better performance only top fall short in the shootout. Each side sent their best options to take the breakaways. However, it was Les Carmonis’s players that got the scoring done. L.Folini and C.Desmarais saw their bench overjoyed after getting the better of F.Koch. On the flip side, J-P Boucher may have been a factor once more as the goaltender collected two big wins.

Jokers jump to better start, Last Minute end night stronger
After eying a very short bench, J.Pereira and the Jokers smelled blood and made sure to take advantage with a big first period. R.Fortin-Lamothe was involved in all three goals that included helpers on A.Dayan’s and J.Pimentel’s tallies. The Jokers kept pressing by the second giving very little opportunity for the Last Minute to keep the ball. With time winding down, S.Dimakos sealed the opening contest with an empty net marker. Due to the circumstances of playing with only two spares, the Last Minute knew the importance of scoring first. It took just over three minutes for J.Cool to give his club an important lead. That goal forced the Jokers to even the score which proved to be very difficult to do with a team playing in shutdown mode. They did however have their fair share of golden opportunities where in one case where they missed a complete open net. A.Dayan looked like he was going get at least one by setting up plenty of chances but it just wasn’t meant to be. C.Stavriadis started the night slow but may have been the major reason why the Last Minute escaped with the second contest. In the victory, J.Cool had a productive game scoring two out of his clubs three goals.
