B.Deslauriers’s six point night paces Team Mixed to win over Fat Cats

With at least two goals in every period, Team Mixed had plenty going for them on this night. B.Deslauriers began the onslaught with his clubs first two goals just over a minute apart. Team Mixed kept flexing their muscles by the second period adding two more tallies that included a big power play goal by Y.Gazura. The Fat Cats did save some face when B.Knez scored twice in the third period to get his club on board. Deslauriers wasn’t the only player to score twice in the win, N.Macrozonaris and Y.Gazura did the same generating most of the offence. After facing close to 35 shots, G-C Sangiovanni was glad the night was over. The Fat Cats goaltender battled to keep the game close but the offence was too potent from the other side.

HC Mutts survive crazy third period

For two straight periods, this contest seemed very ordinary with the HC Mutts hanging on to a 1-0 lead. But that changed dramatically in the third with both sides pushing the pace. A total of seven goals went in that span after both sides were barely able to get at least one by the net minders. The HC Mutts did one thing well, and it was not to give up their lead. The Lumberjacks tied the game twice in the third period but were never able to get a go ahead marker. Maybe, the biggest goal may have come off the blade of S.Sacco. The sniper snapped a 3-3 tie with less than two minutes remaining and added his second right after the Lumberjacks pulled their net minder for an extra attacker. The loss may have felt frustrating for the Lumberjacks, but they can take a positive out of this knowing that they can go toe to toe with a team like the HC Mutts.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Shawn Sacco of the HC Mutts. In time of need, the right handed sniper riffled a key goal to snap a late 3-3 tie versus the Lumberjacks.
