Street Ballers hang on to capture important win

The Street Ballers entered the night with a slight one point lead over last place which made this contest very important if they plan to enter the post season. The good news was that they faced a club with only two changes to their bench. After smelling blood, the men in black made sure to score first and play with the lead. Despite being up 2-0, the Street Ballers found themselves at par before the end of the first period. The same thing happened by the second with G.Khaznadjian regaining the lead only to later drop it when C.Melo posted his hat trick for Carnage. The same theme then continued for one more period with each side trading goals, but the difference this time was that the captain M.Gibeault had the final say by notching the winner.

SBS Trashers Forecheck puts pressure on Spare Parts, clinch first place

When the SBS Trashers are on top of their game, they use an aggressive for check to generate most of their chances. In Thursday night’s match up versus the Spare Parts, the men in red won plenty of one on one battles resulting in goals .Joseph Scalia showed some individual skills breezing by two defensemen before slipping the ball passed O.Caillet. F.Gentile created two scoring chances resulting in goals, and the SBS Trashers carried a two goal cushion with one period remaining. The Spare Parts didn’t throw in the towel just yet. Despite playing better and getting more shots towards the net, R.Pampena stubbornly denied every ball his way.

Eagles felt pressure in must win game

After getting the news that the Street Ballers won their game earlier in the night, the Eagles felt the pressure in what became a must win game. Both sides played to a scoreless first period, but that changed by the second where Les Balcons overwhelmed their opponents. W.Hindley snapped the barrier with his first of three on the night. His biggest tally came late in the second period on the Eagles power play. That goal made the score 3-0, a deficit that was too difficult for the Eagles to overcome. In addition, M-O Lavoie had a big game as well scoring twice while setting up Hindley for the shorthanded goal.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to William Hindley of Les Balcons. His three goals and one assist propelled his club to defeat the Eagles and officially eliminate them from entering the post season.
