(4)SBS Trashers vs P.E.Y.O(6) E1
SBS Trashers winless run reaches five straight
The SBS Trashers failed to win for a fifth consecutive game this time falling to the hands of the P.E.Y.O. Apart-from a few slip ups, the Trashers are keeping it close every game but can’t seem to get that extra something needed for some positive results. Tonight’s game got decided towards the latter stages with the P.E.Y.O scoring late in the second period while winning the final frame 2-1.B.Deslauriers notched goals in very period for his sixth goal and thirteenth point of the season. J.Courteau collected three points and S.Morante dressed for the first time earning the win in net.
(5)Bramabulls vs Deadlast(5) E1 S.O
Deadlast battle back to forge 5-5 tie
Despite leading twice by two goals, the Bramabulls were unable to protect it long enough. Deadlast had to play catch up for most of the night but eventually got their by dictating the pace for long stretches. In the end, the hard work paid off as S.Simitsakos and G.Lallis each tallied late to force the sudden death frame. Neither side were able to get it done in overtime nor the shootout as both goaltenders came up sharp denying two of three breakaway attempts. The Bramabulls got a big night by their veteran P.Charbonneau who was always the right place notching three straight goals. As for Deadlast, S.Simitsakos was very productive netting two goals while setting up E.Skafidas. This was the second encounter between the two sides with Deadlast man handling the Bramabulls 7-1 in the season opener.
(4)Street Ballers vs Underdogs(1) E2
Street Ballers top Underdogs to snap four-game losing streak
The Street Ballers stopped the slide on Thursday night and it couldn’t have come soon enough. The struggling side needed a boost of confidence after struggling to get in the win column, so maybe this win can help them get on the right track with half a season remaining. E.Garon broke a 1-1 tie late in the first period and S.Sauk had one of his better nights going flawless the rest of the way. M.Beaudry collected his second assist on J.Furtado’s power play goal to provide a two goal cushion towards the end of the second period. Then, just to make sure that things would remain secure, J.Morin widened the gap with his third point which proved to be more than enough for a squad in need of points.
(5)French Connection vs UHC(6) E2 O.T
Close comeback effort falls short for the French Connection
The French Connection staged a remarkable third period comeback but ultimately fell shorts in the end. J.Farrese was behind the madness as the solid centre man scored two goals with less than a minute remaining in regulation time. At that point, the UHC may have bent but didn’t break as they redeemed themselves just three minutes later when N.Gikas used a nifty move to get the better of F.Gaudet-Peloquin. S.Arcaro sparked the UHC with their first two goals including one shorthanded. The French Connection looked to be out of gas after two periods being down 5-2, but that wasn’t the case largely due to J.Farrese’s outstanding performance. The French Connection forward was incredibly dominant controlling most of the play that ultimately resulted in a four point night.
(7)Eagles vs Mohicans(6) E2 O.T
Eagles use big third period before notching OT winner
Trailing 6-4 after two periods, the Eagles weren’t done yet as they fought back with two unanswered goals to force the overtime period. Those tallies occurred only seconds apart thanks to T.Daigneault and D.Limoge. For two periods, the Mohicans had no issues scoring but found themselves hitting a wall everytime they shot towards B.Gandolfo. The net minder had a stellar third period which enabled his club to battle back and eventually win it when R.Verrillo struck in overtime. The Eagles just grabbed two big points in a standings that is very congested.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Roberto Verrillo of the Eagles. With points so crucial to the standings, R.Verrillo couldn’t have struck at a better time providing the OT winner in a wild 7-6 affair with the Mohicans.
