(1)SBS Trashers vs Werewolves(6) E1

Battle of important game goes Werewolves way

The Werewolves picked up a hat trick from- D.Traversy and a two goal game by their captain L.Versaci to help them paste the SBS Trashers 6-1 on Thursday night. The Trashers knew they had a difficult task ahead of them without some very key components out of the lineup. Regardless the situation, they did fight hard to keep it close but struggled to contain a prolific goal scorer in D.Traversy. The Werewolves added a new piece to the puzzle with the addition of F.Remon which will definitely solve any scoring issues up front. It was only fitting that P.Nadeau would get the SBS Trashers only goal. At this pace, if the boys in red don’t pick up a win soon, there won’t be any hope of participating in the post season.

(10)Deadlast vs P.E.Y.O(5) E1

Deadlast-P.E.Y.O rivalry takes centre stage

Every time both these teams meet its time buckle up. Despite it being a regular season game, the mind set from-both sides treat it like a do or die game 7 of a final. In tonight’s case however, Deadlast overwhelmed their rival with a full out effort. The more determined side came out stronger and better prepared roaring to a 3-0 first period lead. For nearly two full periods, F.Vigliotti and Deadlast did a remarkable job keeping a team like the P.E.Y.O off the score sheet. But as impressive as that may seem, it was only a question of time for a response. The P.E.Y.O did finish strong posting five goals but the damage had already been done. The win didn’t have any particular hero or superstar making the difference. N.Gikas, J.Velenosi and S.Simitsakos shared two goals each and K.Kakivelis collected three consecutive assists to spread out the offense.

(6)Underdogs vs Eagles(2) E2

Underdogs build 4 goal lead to defeat Eagles 6-2

Playing it a shift at a time, the Underdogs got rewarded in what was a one sided affair. J.Sakr scored twice making the score 4-0 by the early stages of the third period. It was only by then that the Eagles celebrated one of only two goals. K.Certosini spoiled P.Malkoun’s shutout after peppering the goaltender with 15 shots, who was perfect up until that point. In response to the goal, the Underdogs returned the favor with a shorthanded effort by A.El-Haddad. The Underdogs started off strong and played a full throttle game which works when rolling three lines.

(5)Mohicans vs UHC(4) E2 O.T

Mohicans ground UHC in overtime to end winning streak

The UHC stretched their win streak to five games before losing in overtime to the Mohicans. Even the UHC know all good things come to an end at one point, and why not dropping it in overtime where the game could have easily gone either way. In tonight’s case, it was the Mohicans getting the bounce to celebrate the sudden death winner by L-P Rocque. The Mohicans forward opened the scoring very early in the game before ending the night on a brilliant effort. J.Mota had a major hand in it as well bagging two goals with the help of both T.Lord and Y.Sigouin. Despite the loss, J.Pantelis was extremely hot riffling three out of the four goals that included two win the man advantage. This win now has the Mohicans in the UHC’s back mirror trailing by only three points.

(4)Street Ballers vs French Connection(7) E2

Dominant second period powers French Connection over Street Ballers

In only seven minutes, the Street Ballers didn’t know what hit them. The French Connection went on a massive scoring rampage as of the mid way point of the match bagging five very quick goals. D.Dillinger and P.Hargreaves each scored twice during that span while D,Boisvert netted the other. The win couldn’t come without their most important player. J.Farrese, like he does in every game will put up the numbers as the solid center man scored twice while setting up two goals. After finding themselves in a hole, the Street Ballers responded by the third posting two straight power play goals to pull within one. Unfortunately, the momentum lasted only so long as the French Connection took over with the next two tallies.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Louis-Philippe Rocque of the Mohicans. With his two goals that included the overtime winner, the Mohicans are the first team to defeat the UHC this season.

Saturday March 4

(10)P.E.Y.O vs Werewolves(2) E1

P.E.Y.O net 10 goals and 2 hat tricks in blowout win

Everything bounced the P.E.Y.O’s way on Saturday afternoon as they stifled the Werewolves with an easy win. It wasn’t like the Werewolves were missing any key players. It was just one of those games that nothing went right for a defensive minded club. B.Deslauriers and C.Gingras were simply unstoppable as both players racked up the goals posting a hat trick apiece. J.Courteau scored twice while Y.Gazura and A.Jalilvand got the other tallies. The Werewolves celebrated only twice when D.Traversy and M.Martino each solved S.Brown for a rare time.

(1)Eagles vs Street Ballers(7) E2

Captain clutch, M.Gibeault nets 3 goals in lopsided affair

The Street Ballers put forth a very strong effort in a match that had plenty of significance to the standings. Led by their captain,M.Gibeault took the bull by the horns netting three consecutive goals. That surge only fueled the flame for more to come. The Street Ballers continued to press and dominate winning plenty of loose ball battles, especially in front of the net. Y.Dube riffled a pair of beauties and A.Belcher was behind setting up three goals. The Eagles had the better start when C.Gagnon-Ethier scored early to beat S.Sauk, but that was the only time they got anything through the veteran net minder.

(7)UHC vs Underdogs(0) E2

J-F Aumais hits hat trick, UHC trounces Underdogs 7-0

The Underdogs endured a long Saturday afternoon as they watched the game disintegrate into thin air. Only nine minutes in, and the UHC roared to a 3-0 lead. The Underdogs may have had the bodies but the UHC pushed them further and they could not find a way out. J-F Aumais and his teammates barely let them breathe. S.DelGaudio bagged a pair that included one of two power play goals by the UHC. The Underdogs attempted 17 shots towards F.Chau, but were denied every single time. This win came after a rare loss only two days ago versus the Mohicans.

(3)SBS Trashers vs Bramabulls(2) E1 O.T

P.Hodhod roofs OT bullet to get slumping Trashers in win column

P.Hodhod’s overtime winning goal capped a frantic comeback for a team that hasn’t tasted victory so far this season. In the extra period with the ball just inside the Bramabulls zone, the blistering slap shot gave no chance to G.Follano that saw the ball beat him short side. The Bramabulls had the better start winning the opening frame 2-0. Then, the SBS Trashers took over returning the favor with two straight tallies that eventually evened the score thanks to their captain E.Panzera. This encounter had somewhat of a see-saw effect. The Bramabulls looked sharp early on but weren’t able to hold on by the second only to regain their momentum by the final frame. With the win, the SBS Trashers are still in the hunt of capturing a playoff spot but it will require some more results.
