D.Zabitsky shines with three special teams goals

Leading the way for Primetime was D.Zabitsky, who notched two quick shorthanded goals to give his club a valuable 3-0 lead in the first period. Primetime continued their pace from-there outscoring the Publiks Crew in every period. After posting his two shorthanded markers, D.Zabitsky added another tally on the special teams completing his night with a hat trick on the power play. The Publiks Crew had major issues addressing an important part of their game, and that is the lack of production with the man advantage. They did however score once on the power play but that was only once on six attempts. Adding to that, they gave up two shorthanded goals that completely changed the direction of the match.

(3)Brew Crew vs Acolytes(0)

C.Muccino makes 29 saves en route to shutout win over Acolytes

C.Muccino played a supporting role denying every shot his way to help lead the Brew Crew to an early season win. His solid play was just as effective as his defense in front of him. The Brew Crew like to suffocate their opponents and the Acoltyes learned this first hand unable to get any scoring done. A.Lanni and D.DiGiacomo scored first period goals and J.DeSua added a late insurance marker to cap off a perfect night. D.Catalano was behind setting up the first two tallies for the Brew Crew. Its only two games in but Les Acolytes aren’t satisfied yet collecting only one point to the standings.

(3)Mtl Huskies vs Horsemen(5)

T.Mader and T.Zermalias score two goals each to edge out Huskies

Forward T.Zermalias scored twice including a helper on M.Mamoulides’s game winner, and T.Mader also contributed with a pair to help lead the Horsemen past the Mtl Huskies on Wednesday night. Despite trailing by a couple of goals, the Mtl Huskies showed their resilience by nearly tying the game. R.Estrela led a third period effort as the captain scored twice only minutes apart to pull his team within one. In hopes of level ling the match, the Horsemen eliminated that possibility when T.Zermalias tallied late in the game. Neither side dominated the shots column or had many chances on their power plays as only one penalty was taken all night. The Mtl Huskies have been showing some good signs for a new club and will only get better if they continue to battle hard game in and game out.

(4)Les Raymonds vs Hellfish(10)

Hellfish score in bunches in 10-4 rout of Raymonds

The Hellfish won’t have any issues scoring as they did plenty of it against Les Raymonds. With the help of N.Bourgeois and F.Benahamadi, both players ran up the score by a collecting a hat trick. The damage had already been done early on in the contest when the Hellfish scored two early second period goals for a 6-1 lead. At that point, Les Raymonds just hung in there but managed to get some goals through B.Verducci. S.Lecavalier scored twice while setting up A.DeCarolis in the loss. It was a night that Les Raymonds could have used M.Deninno to their lineup, who would have at least helped with some damage control.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to David Zabitsky of Primetime. His two first period shorthanded goals stunned the Publiks Crew that was never able to recover as the game went on. Zabitsky added a power play marker to complete his hat trick and merit the player of the night.
