Raging Rhinos take over in third to defeat Dragons

A third period relentless effort by the Raging Rhinos led to a high scoring 8-5 result. The takeover began by the five minute mark of the final frame when T.Angelis scored the first of five goals that came-from all different players. With a golden opportunity to regain their lead, S.Labrecque capitalized on a power play for his second of the night that ultimately stood up for the winner. M-A Piche also scored twice getting the Rhinos off to a good start with three straight points. The Dragons added a good piece to the line up in N.Goncalves, who immediately impressed scoring three goals and a helper. Despite having two good periods, the Dragons were nowhere to be seen by the third where the Raging Rhinos completely dominated the frame.

Deadlast cough up lead in third period collapse

How a 6-2 lead with four and half minutes slipped away will leave Deadlast mind boggled for days to come. After working hard all game to get to that point, C.Zafiropoulos and his shorter bench felt like they just fell off a steep cliff with nowhere to be found. That ugly feeling kept persisting after a scoreless overtime leaving only a three man breakaway competition to decide it all. During that span, J.Mandracchia and M.Marrone pulled through with shootout goals while G.Follano was able to stop two of three attempts to earn the win in net. The Bramabulls didn’t depend on any heroes for their incredible comeback as four different players scored in a very short span. As for Deadlast, Y.Gazura had a very good night riffling a hat trick along with an assist on C.Zafiropoulos’s second goal of the night.

Carnage too much for new addition Spartans

The growing pains of an inexperienced team will be something that the Spartans will need to cope with in the beginning of the season. Up until they find some chemistry and figure out line combinations, J.Tesolin will have some important decisions to make in hopes of improving the situation. Despite the lopsided score, the Spartans held in there for half the match allowing only one goal till the ten minute mark of the second period. M.Pace is very familiar to finding the back of the net as the sharp shooter tallied three times to get much of the offense going. Both sides had their chances with the man advantage but it was only Carnage taking advantage with two power play goals. The Spartans didn’t get to shoot much which enabled B.Madonis to have a calm night recording a 14 save shutout.

SBS Trashers move the carpet with 3 power play goals

Visit the penalty box and there will be a price to pay. The Street Ballers didn’t have a great night trying to kill off some penalties which led to convincing win for the SBS Trashers. On three occasions, M.Marcantonio, M.Panarello and the captain E.Panzera each tallied with the man advantage after moving the ball incredible well. At no point were the SBS Trashers in any sort of trouble during the match. The only slight mishap came when Y.Dube scored at the 5:45 minute mark of the third period to spoil R.Pampena’s shutout. P.Hodhod had the most goals scoring twice while his captain and F.Gentile had the most points with three apiece.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Marco Pace of Carnage. The natural sniper whaled three goals to spark the Carnage offence in a 7-0 rout of the Spartans.
