Team X & Carmoni de Fabreville settle for split decision

In about the span of only seven minutes, Team X didn’t know what hit them in the opening battle with their opponent. Les Carmoni de Fabreville completely dominated that stretch winning every man on man battle that resulted in four straight markers. G.Delisle and D.Desmarais dressed for a first time and made an immediate impression posting two goals each. Team X showed no signs of life during that time but managed to pick up their game by the second period. With the help of two tallies by D.Ramada and D.Galloro, the veteran side changed the direction of the match to eventually trail by only one goal. Still not out of it yet, Team X kept putting on the pressure only to run into a hot net minder in P.Corbin, who stopped 19 of 22 shots. J.Poirier eventually slowed things down by feeding an empty cage to help secure a 5-3 win. Team X made sure not to repeat what happened to them in the second contest.  Although it was far-from convincing, the men in yellow never once trailed and used a big tally by D.Galloro that broke a 2-2 tie. D.Ramada may have been Team X’s best player as the defenseman not only participated in all three goals but made incredible defensive plays that may have prevented some good scoring chances. Both sides had to work extremely hard in order to capture their respective wins.

Stones out match 1 Timer in one out of four periods

With the first contest ending in a dead heat draw, only one out of the four periods was taken over by one side. The Stones used five second period goals in the second encounter to run down the 1 Timer. That sequence occurred with the Stones trailing 1-0 after one period. The scoring efforts came from-five different players that saw M.Russo bury the winner as part of a three point performance. In addition to his three point production, M.Russo was the only Stones player to have scored in the opening game that helped send the game into a shootout. Neither side was able to grab the win in the shootouts as F.Koch of the 1Timer and his counterpart O.Caillet denied two out of the three breakaway attempts. C.Fragkiudakis scored in the shootout for the Stones while T.Daigneault did the same for the 1 Timer. With only two goals in both games, the 1 Timer know that their struggles to score will be an issue if they can’t get back an injured P-A Surprenant to their lineup. For the time being, it will be a big loss but the power forward will take things a day at a time before his eventual return to the roster.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Danny Ramada of Team X. D.Ramada excelled at both ends of the court on Monday nights. Apart-from dominating the point’s category collecting two goals and two assists, the rugged defenseman made an incredible play to win a one on one battle that led to a big tally while blocking shots when Les Carmoni de Fabreville pulled their net minder in hopes of an equalizer.
