(7)SBS Trashers vs Carnage(2) Game 1
SBS Trashers Carnage rivalry didnt live up to its hype in game one
Yes, it was all smiles for the SBS Trashers as they coasted to a 7-2 decision to jump start their series with Carnage. It always helps when some of your established goal scorers show up to play. The SBS Trashers have at least five players that can hurt you on any given night. In the case of this contest,F.Gentile,J.Scalia and the captain E.Panzera were the only players to find the back of the net.Scalia led all players with three goals while dominating a shorthanded sequence where he struck once while setting up his captain only seconds later.Carnage only got on board as of the second portion of the final frame.M.Pace nothced two straight tallies passed R.Pampena, who didnt really care since he was done for the night thinking of sunlight far away. The only positive that Carnage was able to carry with them was the fact of finishing strong.Would that late momentum carry enough weight in game two ?
(4)Carnage vs SBS Trashers(3) Game 2 S.O
Carnage battle back to even series
Never say die were the words Carnage whispered to each other after a dissapointing game one loss. And while it was not the blueprint for victory, Carnage didnt mind taking their chances in the shootout.Of course that helps when B.Madonis is your netminder, who never once flinched denying five sharp shooters-from the SBS Trashers.Equally effective on the other side of the court, K.Hrivnak stopped the first four breakaways but couldnt get to J.DeMarco on time, who used a swift back hand deak to solve the netminder. The SBS Trrashers were in good position to close off the series with some third period power play chances. However, Carnage stuck with their game plan and made it count till the very end.S.Bourlakos forced the third and deciding game when capatailsing on a late power play opportunity. With the series all tied up,15 minutes or more would be whats left over for both sides to get it done.
(2)SBS Trashers vs Carnage(1) Game 3
Joseph Scalia proves to be Carnage worse enemy, SBS Trashers crowned winners of E2 division
It took only two to three brilliant plays for J.Scalia to help lead his team to the finish line. After netting a power play goal to even the score, the the highly skilled forward read a mistake that would cost Carnage dearly in the end.J.Scalia intercepted a pass that put him in a breakaway where he undenyably snuck a beauty behind B.Madonis.That goal left just over four minutes for a Carnage response. And despite putting some pressure while throwing the kitchen sink, K.Hrivnak remained calm and sharp making sure to protect the slight lead.Prior to the series, and especially after a convincing game one victory, the SBS Trashers may have felt that this series was going to be easier than they thought. But Carnage proved otherwise with their non stop resilient play, especially-from M.Pace, who dominated the court all night resulting in four goals and an assist. Both teams were equally deserving, but the SBS Trashers found a way to win like most good teams often do.On behalf of Hockeyballe.com, congratulations go out to Eric Panzera and the SBS Trashers for capturing their second champiosnship.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Joseph Scalia. In a must win do or die game three, J.Scalia was as clutch as it gets netting two giagantic goals that resulted in a tight 2-1 win for the championship.
