(0)United Arms vs Raging Rhinos(9)
Rhinos roll all over United Arms in 9-0 rout
When looking at the standings prior to the game, it came to no one's surprise that the red hot Raging Rhinos would get their way versus the United Arms. And even though the Arms knew they had a tough road ahead of them, this wasn't the kind of result they were hoping for. A bad start knocked the wind out of the United Arms. The score was 4-0 before the twelve minute mark of the opening frame, and despite having a decent second period, the last fifteen minutes of play wasn't any different that resulted in four more tallies. A.Papazian had the most goals with a hat trick and S.Labrecque was just behind him striking twice in the opening period alone. N.Mauro dressed for the first time this season and showed no signs of rust by collecting an 18 save shutout.
(3)Mighty Drunks vs Carnage(2)
Carnage battle back but fall to Mighty Drunks
Carnage managed to battle back-from a 2-0 deficit but ultimately faltered against the Mighty Drunks on Thursday night. Despite being short like they have been all season, Carnage used two third period goals by F.Cirillo to level the game at two goals apiece. Unfortunately that momentum was cut short when S.Archambault snapped the tie only minutes later. The Mighty Drunks won the first two periods getting both tallies-from the very same K.Otis, and seemed to be going in the right direction until the slight hiccup occurred. The shots were fairly even and the goaltending wasn't an issue with S.Sauk getting the slight edge over his counterpart B.Madonis.
(7)Werewolves vs Mohicans(4)
D.Traversy, missing piece Werewolves are glad to have
In his first game with the Werewolves, D.Traversy scored twice and added an assist looking like he may just be that missing piece. There is no doubt that he fits right in able to create loads of offense providing a much deeper line up. The Werewolves already have threats up front such as Y.Leroux, who bagged a pair along with G,Delia, M.Minkiewicz just to name a few. In addition to their offense, their back end is just as solid. P.Turtutici won't disappoint in net and K.Miraldo is as solid as it gets for a defenseman. The Mohicans came out storming with the games first two goals but flat lined the rest of the way giving up six unanswered markers. J.Quesnel-Vinet was their best player providing two goals and a helper.
(2)Chiefs vs SBS Trashers(3)
SBS Trashers edge out Chiefs in tight contest
After playing a hard felt match, the Chiefs suffered a devastating loss to the hands of Trashers. The clock showed less than 90 seconds when G.Bampos used a shot that had eyes making its way through traffic beating a screened S.Pare. Both sides had their up and down moments, but that didn't matter too much in tonight's case as the net miners stole the show. R.Pampena and S.Pare challenged every shot and made plenty of spectacular saves that only difficult shots got through. On two occasions, the Chiefs battled back to even the score but couldn't grab that lead. In the end,it wasnt so bad of a loss considering how many players were absent.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Yan Leroux of the Werewolves. Game in and game out, Y.Leroux keeps showing why he's dynamite.Tonight was just another example of him doing his usual that resulted in two goals and two assists.
