(3)SBS Trashers vs Bramabulls(2) S.O
SBS Trashers erase 0-2 score to stamp it in shootout
The SBS Trashers may have been down for most of the night, but their confidence never wavered. First, P.Manousos cut the lead in half with a late second period power play goal, and then with only two minutes left to go, K.Hrivnak's desperate shot-from far somehow went through a crowd to even the score. The Bramabulls, despite missing half of their roster approached this game the right way. Surely it helps playing with a 2-0 lead, but nevertheless they still had to work to build it and protect it for most of the match. With neither side able to solve it in overtime, the SBS Trashers took the extra point in the shootout. P.Manousos was the only player to score right after R.Pampena made two straight saves to preserve the win.
(2)Carnage vs Les Rouuuges(4)
J.Hassan hat trick downs Carnage
J.Hassan turned into an instant hat trick hero by owning the second frame with two unanswered goals for a comfortable 3-1 lead. Following his surge, A.Guillaume put the victory beyond doubt just before the period ended. One very bad frame by Carnage was all it took for Les Rouuuges to gather up some points. Carnage drew even in the first fifteen minutes and won the final period thanks to a power play goal by their captain F.Pace. R.Ricaurte faced 26 shots and turned aside 24 to earn his first win in net for Les Rouuges.
(5)JLR Brossard vs Nighthawks (8)
Nighthawks storm by JLR Brossard with 4 second period goals
The JLR Brossard had to endure eight minutes of their worse hockey this season. This contest was deadlocked 2-2 before they completely fell apart allowing four straight goals. Some of the Nighthawks top players broke the game wide open with M.Chenier striking twice, L.Dulcetta collecting three quick points and A.Jalilvand causing havoc for P.Assadi, who had better nights. Despite the bad stretch, the JLR Brossard showed some life early in the third period posting two quick goals. Maybe the most significant moment occurred shortly after when they were awarded a power play chance to pull within one. But with R.Ranieri occupying the net along with a sound defensive core, the Nighthawks killed it off and added two more tallies to close off a decent night. L.Dulcetta scored in every period while adding two assists.
(9)Mighty Drunks vs Chaos(2)
Lack of players reflects the final score
Having one sub versus a stacked hockey team is only asking for problems. Both sides must have figured that the end result would heavily favour the Mighty Drunks, who are having a career season. However, this game was close for a good stretch until the juices dried up for Chaos. S.Govas snapped a 2-2 tie early in the second period, and the Mighty Drunks cruised-from that point on adding six straight markers. E.Garon, Y.Dube and S.Govas each scored twice while L.Bavellas dished out the ball several times resulting in four assists.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Jafar Hassan of Les Rouuuges. Hassan had a stellar performance scoring three out of his clubs four goals to merit the honour.
