Online Auction to benefit JTC ball hockey program

With a trip next June (2014) for 66 young canadian athletes to participate at the World Junior Ball Hockey Championships in Bratislava, Slovakia the travel expenses don’t come cheap. The Canadian Ball Hockey Association (CBHA) is hosting an Online Auction from November 20th to December 10th with all proceeds going to the Junior Team Canada (JTC) program.

The JTC players aged from 15 to 20 come from over 50 cities across Canada, Vancouver, BC to St.John’s Newfoundland and many cities in between. Our players are from your community and its your community that we are looking to for support.

The Online Auction features original collectables such as autographed pucks, sticks, photos and jersey’s donated by various NHL teams. Players such as Brent Seabrook, Jason Spezza, Henrik Sedin, Andrew Ladd and Drew Doughty just to name a few, have put their autographs on many items. One of the showcased jersey’s sure to draw attention is a Vintage Montreal Canadians jersey signed by legend – Rocket Richard.

We have a great selection of gift cards and certificates from many Canadian businesses and retailers. Looking for a getaway night, the hospitality industry has supported our program with hotel stays at places like Kicking Horse Resort in BC, Westin Brisol in Toronto, Lord Elgin Hotel in Ottawa, Sheraton Wall Centre in Vancouver and many others. For someone looking for a great gift for that special person, there’s also travel flight vouchers, jewellery, electronics and more.

“We are overwhelmed by the amount of support we have received,” comments Gary Slavin, CBHA High Performance Minor Director. “With over 55,000 ball hockey members across Canada and people who just love hockey, we hope everyone will take a look at the Online Auction and see an item they would like to have or give as a Christmas present and make a bid,” added Slavin.

All proceeds from the Online Auction benefit the program for the players and will directly help with their flights, accommodations, apparel, training camp and equipment. The trip to Europe isn’t just about competition in sports, but its a life experience for many of these players as they take in the culture and character of Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Bidding deadline is December 10th, 2013 and all items will be delivered before Christmas.
