(7)Spare Parts vs Les Balcons(7) Game 2
Spare Parts storm back to advance to big dance
The Spare Parts didn’t have the control like they did in game one, but the persistence throughout the game was there. The veteran side found themselves trailing for most of the night at times by three goals before mounting an incredible comeback. Knowing that only a tie was required to advance, the men in green kept pushing the pace in desperation of avoiding a third and deciding game. In due time, the key goals eventually came in. The biggest tally found the back of the net with only 45 seconds left on the clock. T.Koutlis swiped at a loose ball and the Spare Parts all of a sudden had something to celebrate about. S.Sicuso and T.Koutlis each scored twice in the win. Les Balcons did plenty of things right in this match except for one thing, and that was taking too many unnecessary penalties. If they stayed out of the box, this series was surely going to go down to the wire.
(8)SBS Trashers vs Carnage(2) Game 2
SBS Trashers win easily, book date with Spare Parts
If the SBS Trashers keep playing the same way like they did tonight, than there will be no doubt that they will be crowned champions. Apart from F.Gentile’s two goals, the division leaders got contributions from many players. The SBS Trashers mounted a 4-1 first period lead which by their standards is more than enough to secure a win. The emerging squad will now have only one challenge ahead of them. The Spare Parts will need a near perfect series if they plan on having any sort of hope. If Sebastien Sicuso can set a game plan, than maybe there’s a chance, but it’s highly unlikely.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Niko Kokovidis of the Spare Parts. The patient defenseman helped set up five goals in an important 7-7 draw.
