(4)Deadlast vs Acolytes(3) F2 Game 2

Captain clutch scores twice to force a game 3

C.Zafiropoulos rolled back the years with two key goals in a close 4-3 must win over Les Acolytes. Deadlast entered the night having no choice to take the game in regulation time. The difference in the match occurred in the third period where the captain riffled his second to snap a 3-3 tie. Les Acolytes had half a period to score only one goal to advance but couldn’t get there. R.Lefebvre scored twice in the loss, one of only two players to get the better of J.Sanoudakis. This result forced both sides to play their best 15-20 minutes of hockey in a game three deciding game.

(2)Acolytes vs Deadlast(1) F2,O.T Game 3

Deadlast exit playoffs in painful manner

If there is one time during a playoff run where you can’t afford a mistake that time would be in game three do or die playoff game. Deadlast couldn’t ask for a better opportunity to find themselves playing for the F2 championship. With no winner after the 15 minute mini game, only a sudden death goal or a potential shootout would determine the fate for both sides. After being awarded a power play opportunity in overtime, Deadlast found themselves looking the other way when C.Beauchamp ended the game with a brilliant shorthanded goal. It wasn’t to say that they would have scored with the man advantage, but at the very least, Deadlast will regret not doing better in that circumstance. Les Acolytes did what they needed to do and know find themselves one step closer to the finish line.

(2)HC Inter vs Horsemen(3) F2 Game 2

Horsemen score three second period goals to drop HC Inter

V.Pandza scored a goal and added a pair of assists to help lead his club to the final. The Horsemen did all of their scoring in the second period. In the span of only a minute, the Horsemen sparked two quick goals to put the HC Inter in a bind. D.Crivello did eventually get on board to cut the lead in half, but that only lasted a few minutes as M.Mamoulides regained a two goal cushion. At that point, the HC Inter needed at least three goals in regulation time to force a game three. Despite D.Crivello’s second tally, the HC Inter was just too far away from forcing the mini game. M.Vinciguerra continues to perform well in net as the net minder collects another big win after facing 26 shots.

The Horsemen and Les Acolytes will face off in one last battle. Both sides split their season series, however, Les Acolytes got the better of the Horsemen in their last game of the season by a tight margin of 3-2.

(4)Primetime vs Bulldogs(2) F3 Game 1

T.Shpindler hat trick lifts Primetime in game 1

T.Shpindler notched a hat trick and J.Papachristos made 22 saves to grab game one of the F3 semi-finals. The match resembled a sea saw effect. Primetime scored twice in the first period, and then the Bulldogs replied with two second period goals only to drop the final frame by giving up a pair of tallies. C.Flikas came through snapping an early 2-2 third period tie. The back breaker occurred minutes later when T.Shpindler buried his third of the contest on the power play. The Bulldogs will use the extra week off and reflect on what to do in order to bounce back in the series.

(2)Hellfish vs NWV(2) Game 1

Late power play goal salvages tie for Hellfish

With time running out, a timely power play goal rescued the Hellfish with only 33 seconds left on the clock. R.Serrano came through at the time of need which gave the Hellfish plenty of breathing room heading into next week’s battle. After being snake bitten for over two periods, the NWV did their scoring by the third with goals from M.St-Laurent and C.Kalogeropoulos. Both goaltenders lived up to the moment facing over 20 shots each. B.Madonis earned the tie for the NWV while his counterpart F.Vigliotti performed equally as well for the Hellfish.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Tzor Shpindler of Primetime. The Primetime forward was involved in all four goals that included three tallies.
