Stellar M.Melo stifles Team X
The outcome of a hockey game is decided by many factors. Some are more pronounced depending on the game itself. In the first match, Team X needed to be opportunistic after trailing 2-1 heading into the second period to take the contest. A.Lanni and M.Barone each scored three minutes apart to squeak out a close victory. But the second match had a different story line. The Jokers showed more determination in their game. By winning many loose balls and by using their forecheking game, the Jokers earned their chances and got rewarded as the game went on. J.Hurtubise opened the scoring and A.Balais notched two goals in a row with the help of A.Dayan’s perfect passes. While the players did their job, goaltending was also a major reason why the Jokers earned the win. M.Melo was absolutely stellar throughout the entire night. Team X didn’t fire many balls but generated some very good quality chances only to hit a wall. To sum it all up, Team X buried their goals in the opening game while the Jokers out worked their opponent in the second to split the night.
