J.Courteau and P.E.Y.O edge out Deadlast

J.Courteau’s main job is to get open and seize the opportunities. The rugged forward executed perfectly in game one of the series by posting two out of his clubs three goals. After netting a first period power play marker, the P.E.Y.O forward made the difference breaking a 2-2 tie by the third. That tally left close to ten minutes for a Deadlast response. Despite firing on all cylinders, S.Brown was simply too good denying every shot his way. Deadlast looked energized early on and grabbed an early second period lead courtesy of their captain C.Zafiropoulos, but couldn’t maintain it long enough as J.Pantelis replied to even the score. S.Marashlian and J.Pantelis each had two points and the P.E.Y.O sensed good things to come after this hard fought victory.

Deadlast concedes three late goals, B.Deslauriers and P.E.Y.O storm back for championship

Individual errors proved costly for Deadlast on a night of late goals and an incredible comeback. P.E.Y.O found their touch in the last four minutes of the game to take game two of the series and the E Thursday championship. The collapse was sealed when B.Deslauriers notched his second with only 29 seconds remaining on the clock. On three straight occasions, the P.E.Y.O grabbed leads that were always responded to. The only time that Deadlast saw their side in front was by the six minute mark of the third period. J.Crivello was the one to crack the barrier which looked to hold up for at least five minutes. Then, all of a sudden things turned on a dime. Led by one of their prolific goal scores, B.Deslauriers captured the moment posting two incredible goals in a very short span. In that equation was also the hero of the previous game J.Courteau and Y.Gazura as the line produced six points. This series was as close as it gets. Both sides have plenty of talent up front that can score at any given time. Maybe the only slight difference may have been experience. The P.E.Y.O has more years under their belt versus a side that has plenty of upside with many promising players. For now, it’s Adam Boujja’s and the P.E.Y.O’s moment as they made an impressive run to reach this stage. The green machine took out the SBS Trashers in an epic semi final before grinding their way passed a resilient Deadlast hockey team. The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Brian Deslauriers of the P.E.Y.O. After missing game one, the power forward marched in and was a major reason why his club outlasted Deadlast. Deslauriers bagged two late goals that included the series winning tally.
