(9)UHC vs Primetime(8) Game 1
UHC earn 9-8 victory after wild third period
Trailing by three goals after two periods, the UHC simply needed a spark. Then one third-period goal turned into another-and yet another-and suddenly, their huge hole eventually turned into a lead. The UHC scored five goals in the final frame to rally past Primetime and grab a vital 1-0 lead in the series. Three of those tallies all came with just over a minute left in the game. Led by their captain, C.Zafiropoulos bagged a hat trick on the power play to pull within one. It took only seconds later for S.DelGaudio to even the score, and if that wasn’t discouraging enough for Primetime, things only went fromm bad to worse when K.Fiore notched the winner with 12 seconds left in the game. Going into the third period, Primetime had everything going right for them up until taking some untimely penalties. The UHC know how well they circle the ball around, and once they had the chance with the man advantages, it was inevitable that the comeback was in the making. Primetime couldn’t have asked for a worse scenario such as this one. The underdogs had a golden opportunity to take a series lead and carry momentum into game two which could have put the odds in their favour.
(2)Primetime vs UHC(5) Game 2
Power play goals plague Primetime once more, UHC capitalise 4 times to take title
Enter the penalty box and you will pay. Primetime were unable to keep the game 5 on 5 and in the end the UHC did what they did like in the previous match pouncing on every opportunity they got. With scoring efforts by five different players, the UHC goal scores were set up by J.DelGaudio, who collected four consecutive assists. It was a series that the special teams ruled the night. The UHC showed that they can score throughout the entire season but also demonstrated that they can defend just as well. J.Sanoudakis, despite winning game one didn’t like his overall performance after giving up eight goals. However, that got regulated immediately with a more focused effort in game two. Primetime struggled to get their offence going limited to only two goals on 25 shots. Both sides had their chances with the man advantage. The major difference was that only one side took advantage of the situation. It’s a part of the game that is very essential for success and the UHC make it look so easy and natural game in and game out. In the end, the UHC did what they needed to do to achieve their goal. After dominating the regular season with only one loss, it seemed fitting that the division leaders would go through the playoffs the way they did. The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Costa Zafiropoulos of UHC. His front net presence enabled the sharp shooter to net three big goals in game one that may have shifted the series the UHC’s favour.
